Tour Itinerary
Walkabout…it’s when Australian Aborigines go on a long journey by foot far from cities and towns. Your “walkabout” won’t be on foot and far away from civilization, but it will give you a chance to learn about the Aborigines as well explore some of Australia’s most exciting cities. And no one brings you Australia like Independence by Globus! In this 14-day vacation, we've arranged your hotel accommodations, daily breakfast, sightseeing, and transfers from/to your hotels to/from the airports for all your intra-vacation flights. Plus, a one-of-a-kind feature: our Globus Local Host, who is there for you in the cities throughout your stays, ensuring everything runs smoothly and helping you get the most out of your trip. You’ll have a Local Host in Sydney, Cairns, and Melbourne.Your vacation begins the moment you arrive in Sydney, as we can pick you up at the airport and take you to your selected hotel. Your Local Host will have a warm welcome for you as well as information to help you get settled and start exploring immediately. In both Sydney and Melbourne, we've arranged for a guided sightseeing tour with a local expert. In Sydney, your tour includes stunning Bondi Beach and a photo stop at Harbour Bridge. In Melbourne, we’ll take you to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Albert Park Lake, and more—plus, we’ll entertain you in both cities with insider stories and little-known secrets. A free day in each city gives you the opportunity to explore on your own (with the support of your Local Host). Perhaps watch the world-famous Penguin Parade on Phillip Island, visit the Old Melbourne Gaol to see where 130 hangings took place, browse the many shops in Sydney's Darling Harbour, or join celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Cameron Diaz, and Prince Harry in climbing to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. From the laid-back port town of Cairns, we’ll take you on a cruise to Australia's Great Barrier Reef. You'll be able to snorkel, take a semi-submersible watercraft tour, or attend a presentation by a marine biologist. A definite trip highlight! On this vacation, you’ll also learn about the native cultures. You'll enjoy a visit to the aboriginal sacred site of Uluru (Ayers Rock). Outside of Darwin, we've arranged for a full-day excursion to Kakadu National Park, where a guided walk will show you the ancient Aboriginal rock art, and a visit to the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre will give you the opportunity to learn about the cultural significance of the park.

Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?
Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?
We have gone on several globus tours and always had a great experience. the hotels are all top notch, the travel arrangements great, the destinations and side trips wonderful.
We have taken several tours with Globus and will continue due to their professionalism, knowledge and quality of service.
We thoroughly enjoyed this trip. It was everything we expected and more. I would definitely book another trip with Globus. I look forward to my next tour.
Globus was a highly reliable company as usual.
The Globus tour director was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about the areas we visited and kept us occupies during the bus rides. The accommodations were very nice and conveniently located.
Globus is a first class operation. We have never gone wrong in booking a tour with Globus.
This trip to Portugal, Morocco and Spain was wonderful. A great experience from start to finish. Globus Tours are top notch.
It's usually hard to beat our expectations of a trip but Avalon most certainly did it. The atmosphere delivered, the food, the excursions and their wonderful staff made our vacation more than memorable.
Globus always provides very high quality. We were completely satisfied with our experience.
We have traveled many times with Globus. We consistently have found this tour operator to be reliable.
Excellent itinerary, outstanding guide, and a wonderful trip to a delightful country I would strongly recommend.
I love working with Karen.
The tour cities and sites we visited were all great. The pace of the tour was good (not rushed with time to rest, shop or sight see on our own). Our tour director was fabulous (good communicator, knowledgeable, nice sense of humor). Our driver was a wonderful driver, I always felt safe. The extra excursions (I purchased all 4) were excellent and reasonably priced. I will use Globus again.
Globus Escapes are an economical way to travel during the off season. For me, I often prefer the off-season because there are fewer crowds. I especially appreciate the local tour guides in each area.
