Spend eight days reliving the days of the Wild West and exploring stunning natural wonders. Pick up your rental car in Salt Lake City, then head north to Jackson, gateway to Grand Teton National Park. Watch for elk, moose, mule deer, and bison here. Next, on to Yellowstone National Park, the world’s first national park and a geothermal wonder. Drive east to Cody, home to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, and make a short detour to visit Little Bighorn Battlefield, site of “Custer’s Last Stand.” Check out Sheridan’s Western-style shops, taverns, and restaurants on your way to the Black Hills and a stop in the historic Wild West town of Deadwood. Continue south to Mount Rushmore, then to the nearby Crazy Horse Memorial where an entire mountain is being carved to resemble Chief Crazy Horse.
