Spend 10 days exploring beautiful New England. Pick up your rental car in Boston and head north to Wiscasset, “Maine’s Prettiest Village.” Continue to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park on the rugged coast of Maine, then west to New Hampshire and the beautiful White Mountains. On to the Green Mountains to visit the historic village of Stowe, nestled beside Mount Mansfield, Vermont’s highest peak. Ride the gondola to the top for inspiring views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks, sample a cold treat at Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream factory, or tour the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, the largest maker of American-made teddy bears. Next, drive south to the Berkshire Hills with a stop along the way in the quintessential New England village of Woodstock. Visit the Hancock Shaker Village, a restored 19th-century settlement, and then Lenox, summer home of the Boston Symphony. Drive to picturesque Newport, and enjoy a walk around the waterfront area. Then, take scenic Ten Mile Drive and visit some of the many historic mansions in the area. Return to Boston to drop off your rental car and conclude your memorable vacation.
