This Italian Splendor vacation is the perfect way to explore Italy if you have only a short time. Your trip starts in Rome with a welcome dinner with wine in a local restaurant. Your guided sightseeing tour of Rome includes a visit to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Square and Basilica, the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Travel to Venice, enter by private boat and visit St. Mark’s Square. On the way to Lake Garda, stop in Romeo & Juliet’s Verona for a walking tour and to take pictures of Juliet’s balcony. Then, enter the Valpolicella wine area for your overnight stay. Next is Florence, Cradle of the Renaissance, where you can admire Michelangelo’s David, the cathedral, and Signoria Square. Your tour then returns to Rome. But first, ride a modern funicular through the forbidding ramparts of the town of Orvieto, perched high atop a volcanic rock. An Italian vacation to be remembered!
