Day 1 - Tel Aviv, Israel

Check-in to your choice of city-center hotel for dinner and a tranquil overnight, either the superior first class Crown Plaza or the deluxe Intercontinental Tel Aviv. Meals D

Day 2 - Tel Aviv

Explore old and new Tel Aviv beginning in Neve Tzedek, the city’s first neighborhood now filled with galleries and cafes. Visit the unique Rokach Museum in the home of one of Tel Aviv’s first families; drive down Rothschild Boulevard to visit Independence Hall and the Carmel Market, and enjoy splendid views from the Azrieli Observation Tower. Dine this evening at Maganda, one of General Tours favorite restaurants, and enjoy a night out with your guide in the Old Port. Meals B,D

Day 3 - Tel Aviv / Tiberias

Tour the ruins of the Herodian port of Caesarea, including an interactive presentation. Continue up Mt. Carmel and stop in a Druze village to meet with a local family and browse the market before an authentic Druze lunch. Visit the Church of the Annunciation in Nazareth before driving to your hotel in Tiberias, the superior first class Gai Beach or the luxurious Galei Kinnereth, set on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Meals B,L,D

Day 4 - Tiberias / Excursion to Golan Heights and Sea of Galilee

Experience warm Israeli hospitality on a morning visit to a local kibbutz. Then drive up Mt. Beatitudes to visit the octagonal-domed church and enjoy great views of Tabgha and Capernaum. Ascend the Golan Heights for a winery tour and tasting, and learn about Israel’s olive oil production at a nearby mill. Visit the reconstructed village of Katzrin, mentioned in the Talmud and ‘alive’ again in its original ancient location. See the impressive ruins of a 2,000 year old Synagogue, still in use today for weddings and other special occasions. Enjoy sweeping views of the Sea of Galilee from the Ofir Observatory and then end this enriching day with a cruise across this historic Sea before returning to your hotel in Tiberias. Meals B,D

Day 5 - Tiberias / Dead Sea / Jericho / Jerusalem

Journey south through the Jordan Valley to Masada. Ascend by cable car and explore these hilltop ruins, the site of a heroic last-stand against the Roman Legion. Continue to the Dead Sea, for lunch and a swim, or to enjoy the available spa facilities. Then drive to Jericho – perhaps the oldest city in the world – and enjoy the warm hospitality of a prominent Palestinian family, with illuminating conversation and a hearty dinner. Continue to Jerusalem and check-in to your choice of hotel, the superior first class Dan Panorama or the elegant David Citadel. Meals B,L,D

Day 6 - Explore Jerusalem

Begin your exploration of Jerusalem with views from the Mt. of Olives and a visit to the Garden of Gethsemane. See the Room of the Last Supper on Mt. Zion and walk the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Visit the Israel Museum to see a fascinating scale model of Jerusalem during the time of the Second Temple. Dine tonight in town. Meals B,D

Day 7 - Dig Jerusalem! / FreeStyle Afternoon

Your day unfolds first in the Old City, where recent excavations of the past year are yielding astounding archaeological discoveries about the City of David, where King David established the capital of Israel 3,000 years ago! Then visit the Davidson Center, where advanced visualization technology reveals the city’s glorious past. Most impressive, perhaps, is a 3-dimensional virtual reconstruction of the Temple. Continue with your guide in the Jewish Quarter to visit the Western Wall of the Temple Mount.

We’ve also made special arrangements for you to Dig Jerusalem! Participate in an ongoing archaeological dig and work along side the professionals to reveal ancient artifacts hidden by thousands of years of mud, clay, and sediment. Your discoveries will be added to museum collections in Jerusalem.

This afternoon, tailor your stay with the included FreeStyle excursion of your choice:

● Yad Vashem: Established in 1953, Yad Vashem documents the history of the Jewish people during the Holocaust period, preserving the memory and story of each of the six million victims through exhibits, archives, monuments, sculptures, memorials and museums.
● Bethlehem: With only 27,000 residents, the size of this small town belies its enormous significance to the world. Your visit here includes the Church of the Nativity.
● Jewish Corridor Jeep Excursion: Explore the historic landscapes surrounding the city and travel along the Jerusalem Corridor, an important supply route during the War of Independence.

This evening, we’ve arranged for a farewell dinner in a delightful Jerusalem Restaurant. Meals B,D

Day 8 - Jerusalem

Your program with us finishes this morning. Or, extend your stay with General Tours flexible and affordable FreeStyle Add-ons. Petra and the amazing landscapes of Jordan offer the perfect complement to this trip! Meals B
