DAY 1 DEPART USA *
Board your overnight transatlantic flight.

DAY 2 ARRIVE IN ROME, ITALY
Upon arrival at Rome Fiumicino Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to begin exploring on your own. This evening, join your Tour Director for a Welcome Drink.

DAY 3 ROME
Today\'s highlight is a visit to the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City, to admire the painted ceiling by Michelangelo. Then visit St. Peter\'s Basilica and see the famous Pieta and other great works. Next cross the Tiber to ancient Rome to visit the mighty Colosseum and see the Forum and the Circus Maximus, where \"Ben Hurstyle\" chariot races were often held. Afterwards, time at leisure to explore on your own, shop, or relax in one of the many sidewalk cafés. (B)

NOTE: Saturday departures will visit the Sistine Chapel before departing for Venice on day 4.

DAY 4 ROME / VENICE
Drive through the Umbrian Hills, past Orvieto and into the Apennine Mountains reaching the Emilia Romagna. Next pass Bologna and along the Veneto Plain to magical Venice. (B,D)

DAY 5 VENICE / LAKE GARDA
Savor the sights and sounds of this floating city on a canal cruise by private motor launch to St. Mark\'s Square, viewing the Bridge of Sighs and Doge\'s Palace along the way. Next, visit a glassblowing factory. There is time on your own to shop or explore the city further. Later, journey across the plains of Veneto past Verona towards the Italian Lake District for the night. (B,D)

DAY 6 LAKE GARDA / FLORENCE
Travel along the shores of Lake Garda, via Mantua to Renaissance Florence. On arrival, a walking tour with a local guide features views of the Duomo, Baptistery, Piazza Signoria and a visit to the Santa Croce Basilica. During the day, your Tour Director will share a hidden treasure. Afterward, your time is free in this delightful town. (B)

DAY 7 FLORENCE / ROME
This morning, take a scenic drive back to the \"Eternal City,\" Rome. The afternoon is free for some last minute shopping, exploration at your own pace, or to simply sit back in a cafe and relax. Tonight, celebrate your Italian Holiday at a Farewell Dinner. (B,D)

DAY 8 DEPART ROME
Your homebound flight arrives the same day. (B)
