Day 3 - CAIRO SIGHTSEEING

Begin yourCairo sightseeing with a drive to Memphis,capital of the Old Kingdom, to see the statueof Rameses II and the Alabaster Sphinx.Continue to Sakkara to view the StepPyramid of Zoser I, which is the oldest in theworld. Marvel at one of the Seven Wondersof the Ancient world when you visit theGreat Pyramids at Giza, and their guardian,the Sphinx. (BB)

Day 4 - CAIRO - OVERNIGHT TRAIN.

Visit the Egyptian Museum to see the treasurerecovered from the tomb of Tutankhamun.Now enjoy fine views over the city from thecitadel of Salah El Din before visiting thealabaster Mosque of Mohammed Ali. Spenda leisurely afternoon in Cairo before boardingyour overnight sleeper train to Aswan.(BB, D)

Day 5 - ASWAN SIGHTSEEING.

Beginyour Aswan sightseeing with a visit to themodern High Dam. Continue by motorboatto the well preserved temple of Philae, risingfrom the waters of the Nile. Now view theunfinished obelisk in the granite quarries,before continuing to your hotel set onElephantine Island in the middle of the Nile.Enjoy high tea in the garden of your hotel asthe sun begins to set.

Day 6 - CRUISING ASWAN.

This morningis free. Maybe take an optional air excursionto see the Temples of Rameses II at AbuSimbel? Later, board your comfortable Nilecruiser.

Day 7 - CRUISING EDFU.

Sail aroundAswan's Botanical Gardens in a traditionalNile felucca before cruising to Kom Ombo.Here, on the banks of the Nile, visit theTemple of Sobek. Sit back and enjoy theever changing scenery as you cruise towardsEdfu. Spend the evening enjoying a funfilledEgyptian dinner and Galabea party.(BB, L, HD)

Day 8 - CRUISING LUXOR

Visitthe beautifully preserved Temple ofHorus, the Falcon God. Then continuecruising through Esna Lock to Luxorwhere you visit Luxor Temple. (BB, L, D)

Day 9 - LUXOR - CAIRO

Cross to theWest Bank of the Nile to see the Colossi ofMemnon, and visit the reconstructed Templeof Hatshepsut. Continue to the Valley of theKings - final resting place of many of Egypt'sancient rulers. After visiting several of thePharaohs' tombs, return to Luxor. Your finalhighlight is the enormous Temple complexof Karnak. Among its many splendours is theHypostyle Hall, with its colossal columns70 feet high. Transfer to the airport for yourflight back to Cairo.
