DAY 1 - Depart for IcelandDepart for Iceland
DAY 2 - Arrive in Iceland, Northern Lights Evening Tour
Welcome to Iceland, transfer independently to your hotel in Reykjavik. Most flights arrive in early morning and your room may not be ready for you. In this case, leave your luggage with the concierge. Spend the balance of the day at leisure to explore Reykjavik, the world's most northerly capital, surrounded by incredible landscapes and countless natural wonders. Or perhaps take the optional city tour of Reykjavik* during which you'll visit landmarks such as the Pearl for unrivaled views over Reykjavik and the Northern lights Center. View Höfði House where Reagan and Gorbachev met to end the Cold War, as well as Hallgrimskirkja church, an iconic Reykjavik landmark. Gain invaluable insight into the Icelandic society and how Reykjavik has developed from a small fishing village into a modern capital. End your tour at Harpa Concert & Conference Hall where you can choose to stay in downtown Reykjavik on your own, or return to your hotel. Later tonight, search the skies for the Northern Lights, (Aurora Borealis) among the most spectacular phenomena on earth. The Northern Lights originate from the sun, where large explosions and electronic storms throw charged solar particles deep into space. This solar wind is caught by the Earth's magnetic field on the south and north poles. The solar particles collide with atmospheric gases and create this wonderful light effect. This evening, hope to see these lights swirling and dancing across the sky, endlessly changing color, shape and size***The order of sightseeing for Reykjavik City Tour may vary depending on day.**Northern Lights tours are subject to correct weather conditions and solar activity. Sightings cannot be guaranteed. If the tour is canceled locally, we will attempt to offer another Northern Lights tour on an alternate evening, conditions permitting. The Reykjavik Northern Lights tour departs at approximately 8:30 PM from Oct 1 - Mar 14, and 9:30 PM from Sep 1 - Sep 30 & Mar 15 - Apr 15. The tour may not return until after midnight.

Geothermal seawater is led directly to the Blue Lagoon forming wells as deep as 6,000 feet and the water stays warm at 100-110°F throughout the entire year. Gate 1 has provided good service and good deals for us. We look forward to our next trip with Gate 1.
I cannot say enough about Gate 1! Gate 1 is the only travel operator I travel with.
This was my fourth trip with Gate 1. Every trip has been above my expectations.
Gate One guides are so efficient and knowledgeable,
The Radisson Hotel was way above expectations and all others were very nice. The bus with wifi and charging ability was very nice and allowed me to share the trip with others while traveling. The food was extremely good and many more choices than expected. All flights, pickups and delivery were accomplished on time and with ease. The bag handlers were always there and made everything run smoothly with little effort on my part.
Gate1 trips match their advertisements Their Tour Managers are always very attentive and helpful.
