It’s an amazing opportunity as it is already when able to travel abroad and visit countries you’ve never been to, but it’s an entirely different feeling when you’re doing it in such a unique way. I would have been happy to visit Croatia anyway, anytime but being able to sail around Croatia in a motorized yacht, go island hopping, and jumping off the back of the ship into the Adriatic Sea for swim stops was probably one of the most amazing trips I’ve ever taken. The Itinerary
The program that Peregrine, part of the Intrepid Travel Group, put together is a perfect balance of local cultural immersion and almost guilty feeling of too much fun. Between port stops to be greeted with a local guide and included walking tour to take in the sights and sounds of the city you’re in, we were jumping off the back of the ship into the Adriatic Sea on our swim stops. There are no optional tours to take so what you pay for is what you get and the only thing extra you’re paying for is whatever drinks you consume onboard and meals off board. To mix it up from our usual port hopping, we also experienced two amazing national parks. Most of the time, you come home needing a vacation from your vacation but this trip was the perfect blend of relaxation and tourist-ing.
The Ship – Peregrine Dalmatia
The Peregrine Dalmatia is not the biggest ship, the most expensive ship, or the most luxurious ship. It is, however, the perfect ship. It has exactly everything you need for sailing around the Dalmatian Coast for a week. The clean, well-kept ship is a motorized yacht with about 20 cabins onboard with a full bar, dining room, aft deck hangout area, front ship sun-bathing area, dedicated lower deck smoking area, and a wide open sun deck to take in the sights while getting your tan on.
