Irish Heritage and Dromoland Castle Tour

On this seven-day tour, among other things, you’ll stay at the five-star Dromoland Castle Hotel, and you’ll get to take an open-air bus trip through Dublin with a stop to visit the home of one of Ireland’s most famous beverages: either the Guinness Storehouse or the Old Jameson Distillery.

This vacation focuses on meals and unique oddities. You’ll have six planned dinners, as well as a Dublin dinner canal cruise with live music. In addition, you’ll get to take a ghost walking tour in Edinburgh, and get to visit the Loch Ness, and decide for yourself if Nessie is real.

These are just a couple of the world-class vacations you can take through CIE Tours. But what really makes CIE special is the opportunity to make personal connections.

A Story of True Love

In 1962, Norrie Coakley, a young woman living in Dublin with her father, convinced him to take a bus tour with CIE Tours International, to see some of the Irish countryside and take a break from their day-to-day lives. Surely, she had no idea what was in store for her.

On the bus, she met Bill Short. Bill was an Irish-American World War II veteran visiting from Chicago, traveling by himself and looking to reconnect with his Irish roots. Bill and Norrie immediately hit it off, and took a side trip to Killarney together. In that time their initial spark deepened into real love. Bill had to return to the States after his vacation, but a year later, Norrie moved to Chicago to marry Bill.

More than fifty years later, the two are still together, with three children and six grandchildren. The two took another CIE Tours Irish vacation last August to commemorate their golden anniversary and revisit the place where they first fell in love. They still keep a vintage 1962 CIE Tours poster in their home, as a reminder of the vacation where they found each other.

You never know what kind of surprises await you on a CIE Tours International vacation, perhaps even the greatest surprise of all– true love. Visit AffordableTours.com to get the best price on your CIE vacation today.
