The Best of California With Insight Vacations was truly an amazing experience, from start to finish. From San Francisco to Los Angeles, and everything in between, it was definitely filled with many amazing sights and adventures! If you are a wine lover and a” Foodie”, this is the tour for you!

San Francisco

How I do love San Fran! Union Square is definitely bustling with so many people, and the trolley stops right in front of your hotel. Westin St. Francis is an excellent hotel choice and it is the only hotel on Union Square. We enjoyed our trolley ride to Pier 39 and got a chance to see the sea lions, basking in the sun!

Flower Power is still in full force in Haight Ashbury! This was such an exceptional experience, as we learned all about the hippie movement, saw the homes of the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, and many more famed souls of the past. BUT, my most favorite part of San Francisco was the spectacular Golden Gate Bridge! What a beauty she is, as she soars above the clouds. What I didn’t know is that her color is actually, “International Orange”.You could never imagine how big she is, until you are right there in her presence.

Sonoma

Fairmont Sonoma Mission and Spa was great choice for our Wine Country stay! They greeted us with a champagne toast and delighted us with a complimentary bottle of wine in our room. Two sparkling pools and a complimentary, daily wine tasting to boot! What a treat!

Our private wine tasting at Valley of The Moon Winery, was so well done and the best I have ever experienced. They definitely are not greedy with their wine tasting portions either…. Cheers!

Hearst Castle and the American Riviera

“The Enchanted Hill”, where William Randolph Hearst built his dream abode, was pretty amazing. This place is a fantasy, far beyond anyone’s imagination. From the fruit orchards, to the zoo he had built, you could not imagine the lengths he went to, to create this spectacular place that we can all admire today. Even though the zoo has been long gone, we actually saw zebras, still roaming the surrounding lands of the castle.

Santa Barbara is so refreshing and relaxing, I almost stayed there. The beach front views of the Hilton Santa Barbara Resort are wonderful, and just what you need to relax and just forget about everything!

Los Angeles

The Glitz and Glam is definitely here, and The JW Marriott is right in the middle of it all! The Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Chinese Theatre, are pretty interesting to see.

We went to the Famous L.A. Farmers Market, where we picked up some last minute souvenirs and had a bite to eat. Our Celebration Dinner was the best! The food, the service, the wine…did I say wine?

The Santa Barbara Mission was a treat to see. I really enjoyed the gardens here and learning about this history of the 21 missions along California’s El Camino Real.

California was definitely a pleasant experience, and Insight Vacations really knows how to show you the BEST of the state!
