There are times when words, even superlatives, aren’t sufficient to adequately describe certain travel experiences. My recent trip through the Canadian Rockies with Insight Vacations was just such an event.
From the time we were met in Vancouver until our tour returned to Vancouver 14 days later, the flawless execution of every service detail by our tour director and the support staff along the way made any cares melt away as we took in the amazing vistas that Western Canada offers. Although the entire experience was extraordinary, there were some key highlights that are worth particular attention here.
ncouver itself is a vibrant, modern and beautiful city and we enjoyed our stay at the fabulous Four Seasons and visits to Granville Island and the Capilano Suspension Bridge. But the star for us was the visit the lovely Victoria, a locale that admirably reflects its British heritage, to take in the creative masterpiece that is Butchart Gardens. The visit was made more special by Insight’s “privilege time” that allowed us to visit before the full thrust of crowds were present.

The Fairmont Hotel properties in Lake Louise, Banff and Jasper offered rooms with exquisite views and world-class dining alternatives. The expansive view of Lake Louise from our room at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise would have been sufficient to make the trip memorable by itself but it was just one of the delights of these properties, their locations and impeccable service making our stays with them unforgettable.
The lakes were spectacular. Lake Louise offered an amazing vista with snow capped mountains framing its pristine waters, Lake Louise was showing off its unique color and Lake Emerald, in Yoho National Park flashed waters of mesmerizing turquoise caused by powdery limestone deposits.
Insight always offers a memorable touring experience and this vacation proved to be no exception. There isn’t sufficient space here to properly relate every detail that was so thoughtfully managed. My hat is off to Insight for providing one of the best travel experiences I have enjoyed to date.
