Our Sightseeing on the Danube with Ama Waterways river cruise journey started at Houston Intercontinental Airport, Air France, on a nonstop flight to Paris. Expecting knees to my chin, an eight hour flight in a sardine can, WOW! Comfortable seats, legs stretched out and I was out in three minutes, comfy with my pillow and blanket that was already on the seat when we boarded. It was a full service flight, complete with meals, drinks, etc.
We landed with plenty of time for our connection to Prague. Once we arrived, we jumped into a taxi, and were swept off to our hotel, the Perla. This 4 star property was in a great location, close to the Astronomical Clock in the Square. We then had some time relax.
Time for Goulash! We enjoyed the most fabulous food, from goulash to carpaccio. We indulged in hot chocolate and mulled wine on every corner cafe. The people were warm and friendly and the architecture was simply gorgeous!
After spending 3 nights on our own in Prague, day 4 brought us to Vilshofen, Germany, where we boarded the beautiful Amaserena, our home for the next week for Sightseeing on the Danube with Ama Waterways. The experience was completely first class with beauty, elegance and a staff that definitely goes the extra mile. The food was beyond compare. We found that if we ordered the daily special it was always fabulous!
Cruising through some of the most beautiful villages along the Danube, including Linz, Durnstein, Wdeissenkirchen, we found ourselves enjoying fabulous wine tasting. Vienna and Budapest were my favorites. We got to see a gorgeous castle, partake in cultural bike tours offered from the Amaserena, and Viennese music. Some of us participated in an optional Mozart and Strauss concert.
Who would have thought the beauty of Eastern Europe would be so breath taking. Now it is one of my most desired and favorite places. Do yourself a favor and go Sightseeing on the Danube with Ama Waterways.
