Review: Western Caribbean With Princess

I embarked on a 5-day adventure with Princess Cruise line, our destination was a new horizon. I did a 7-day trip around the Western Caribbean with Princess that began and ended in Fort Lauderdale. It was a 3-day at sea and four amazing days at spectacular destinations. Our first day was at sea since we had to set out to sea. We were able to explore the ship with multiple activities at our disposal.

The following day we arrived at Princess Cays Island. We had to disembark onto smaller boats and enjoy a 10-minute boat ride onto land. Once on land we could freestyle around the beach, just relax, and soak up some rays.

They had some small shops where you could buy some last minute items such as sunscreen and flip-flops. Right before lunchtime, they put out some fruit for us to enjoy as they finished the final preparations for lunch. At lunchtime, they opened up the buffet style restaurant, which offered chicken, burgers, and hot dogs. After a couple of hours, we decided to head back onto the ship, in order to do that we had to take another 10-minute boat ride.

The next day was at sea, so after a previous day of fun in the sun I enjoyed some much-needed rest. They had buffet style restaurant as well which served breakfast, lunch and dinner. In your cabin, you have the option to watch many just released movies at no cost to you. I took advantage of such great releases and caught up to many movies I wanted to watch back on land.

After a day, at sea we landed in sunny Jamaica. The weather was amazing so we decided to visit the beach. We took a cab to a beach to a local beach, and spent most of the day there. They had an option to get a massage so I took advantage of and it was amazing. When it was getting closer to head out to sea, we decided to grab a bite to eat at Margaretville.

On the following day, we arrived in George Town, Jamaica so we decided to go out and explore. We did not wonder off too far but we still enjoyed sightseeing. The US dollar there is worth a lot less so pretty much $20 dollars equaled $16 dollars there. We enjoyed lunch at the magnificent Burger King and then called it a day, so we went back onto the ship.

Our final land stop was the amazing Cozumel, Mexico. This stop was the most anticipated. We had prepaid for an optional excursion to Xcaret as soon as we booked the trip. In order to get on land we had to ride inside a very nice speedboat for about 45 minutes. Once there we took a 15 minute bus ride to Xcaret.

Words cannot describe how amazing the experience was. There are so many activities you can do while you are there, you cannot do everything in one day, and unfortunately we only had a couple of hours to enjoy our time there.

Overall, I had an unforgettable experience the few days I was at sea. I highly recommend Western Caribbean with Princess if the opportunity arises you grab it by the horns.
