Visiting Europe especially during the Holidays has always been on my bucket list.  After checking what they had to offer; Delights of London and Paris with Trafalgar was the best option for my husband and me.  Since the tour was at leisure, we only need to unpack twice.  This fabulous tour consisted of 4 nights in London and 4 nights in Paris.

On day 1 instead of the usual Welcome Reception, Trafalgar surprised us with a 3-course traditional English dinner starting with the appetizer and ending with a scrumptious dessert. Thoughts of jetlag faded away with the delights of the meal.  It was simply delicious!  After the full meal, we headed back to our hotel, Copthorne Tara Hotel London Kensington.

On day 2, the tour included an excursion to Bath and Stonehenge.  The journey between London and Bath took around 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Once we arrived at this UNESCO listed city, we visited the Roman Baths that were built in 70AD!  We had some free time allowing us to explore lunch on our own.

Off to Stonehenge, where the traffic and crowd was overwhelming. Thanks to Trafalgar as no time was wasted in queuing up for tickets. Have no fear as our TD, Hannah has already has the tickets in her hands. Stonehenge is one of the World Heritage Site and best known as Europe’s prehistoric monument. It is a historic stone monolith where pagans once worshipped.

On day 3, today we met up with Tim the Local Specialist and spent half day sightseeing London’s iconic sights such as Big Ben, House of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, and Buckingham Palace.

The local specialist was able to guide us through a massive crowd of people to view the Changing Band of the Guard at Buckingham Palace.

The rest of the afternoon was spent at leisure with some participants taking an optional excursion to Windsor.

The journey between London and Windsor took around 45 minutes.  Windsor is a historic market town with its vast royal castle.  Windsor Castle is one of the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and official residences of the British Royal Family.  Here we visited the chapel where Prince Harry and Meghan were married.

For avid fans of the theater, tonight’s optional excursion was a show at the West End district.   Guests can select to see Wicked, Matilda or Les Miserables.

On day 4, what a day to celebration New Year’s Eve in London!  We started our day at the Tower of London with an exciting ride on the London Eye then cruise along the Thames.  Due to the New Year’s Eve holiday, many roads and attractions were closing early.

Tonight Trafalgar surprised us with a full 5 course New Year eve dinner along the Thames.  As we made our way back to the hotel, it was close to midnight.  We were able to watch many of the fireworks lighting up the London skyline right from our rooms.  Talk about an experience!

On day 5, Happy New Year!  We depart London by way of the ferry in Dover.  We travel through the lush green Kent countryside and while viewing the White Cliffs disappear as we cross to Paris.

It was a foggy and traffic jam evening as we arrive in Paris.

On day 6 of our London and Paris with Trafalgar, Bonjour! We joined the local specialist in a sightseeing tour of Paris.

We viewed Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, Place de Concorde, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and a walk through the Latin Quarter.  Tonight we connect with the locals for the Be My Guest dinner.

On day 7, we joined the local specialist to explore the magnificent Palace of Versailles.

The Palace of Versailles was the principal royal residence of France from 1682, under Louis XIV, until the start of the French Revolution in 1789.  This evening we opted in for a dinner and show at the famous cabaret house Moulin Rouge.

On day 8, we spent our last day at leisure until the evening where we join our companions for a farewell dinner and a drive around Paris.
