Review: Christening of the Avalon Passion
By: Allyson Humber, Senior Certified Travel Associate
I recently had the pleasure of participating in the Christening cruise of Avalon Waterways’ newest Suite Ship, PASSION.
Our group of agents and industry professionals met in Vienna on Saturday, April 9th at the Intercontinental Hotel to begin our tour which included a performance by the Lippizan stallions and a private tour of the stables at the Spanish Riding School. The performance hall is magnificent and we enjoyed watching the horses perform various routines showcasing their various talents. The Lippizans are born black and turn white with age, and those that retain their black coats are considered lucky charms. The performance was magical and I highly recommend anyone visiting Vienna to include this in your tour plans.
Review: Avalon Waterways – “Romantic Rhine”
By: Linh Nguyen, Senior Travel Consultant
This year I decided to take an Avalon river cruise to relax. I’ve taken many river cruises with Avalon before and loved it every time. The Romantic Rhine itinerary I went on starts in Amsterdam and ends in Basel for a total of 7 nights aboard the Tranquility II.

Vietnam and Cambodia have been on my bucket list for a while therefore last December I decided to take the “Vietnam, Cambodia & the Mekong River” cruise with my husband. We took two cruises with Avalon few years ago and we loved them so much that we decided to book another one. This land / river package starts in Ho Chi Minh and ends in Siem Reap with 7 days aboard the Avalon Siem Reap; however, we have also added Hanoi and Ha Long Bay extension.
Review: Fascinating Vietnam, Cambodia & the Mekong River with Avalon

We arrived at Saigon’s Ho Chi Minh airport in Vietnam just after 10:00pm. We applied for e-visas several weeks prior to departure, so upon arrival, the process to receive our Vietnam tourist visa stamp took less than 10 minutes. After sailing effortlessly through immigration, we collected our luggage, met our Avalon representative in the baggage area, and we were enroute to our hotel within what seemed like only 45 minutes of landing.
