Review: Natural Wonders of Costa Rica with Globus

By: Luis Herrera, Certified Travel Agent (Cuba Specialist)

I recently took the 9 Day Natural Wonders of Costa Rica tour with   Globus. The first day on the trip was a leisure day, as most flights from the U.S. arrive at odd hours, and my fight from Houston was no exception. I arrived late in the evening around 9pm, and was met by a Globus representative after clearing customs and immigration.

Review: Cape Cod, The Islands And Newport With Tauck

By: Luis Herrera, Certified Travel Agent (Cuba Specialist)

This summer, I had the opportunity to take a tour of Cape Cod, The Islands, and Newport with Tauck. Our program began at the luxurious Lenox Hotel, a prestigious boutique hotel in the heart of Boston, where our group was each introduced to one another before going to an elegant steak dinner at Grill 23 & Bar. My friends and I recently had the opportunity to take part in Trafalgar’s Magic & Make Believe Family Experience this past summer, which is a 9 day program focusing on London and Paris. This tour is ideal for families who want to experience the main sights these two royal cities have to offer with their young ones during a short time frame.

My friends and I were met by a Trafalgar representative at the London Heathrow Airport and transferred to our centrally located hotel, the Thistle Marble Arch. If first impressions mean anything nowadays, I can tell you that this hotel property had all the qualities of a distinguished regal hotel accommodation. Located right off the main shopping strip of Oxford Street, the Thistle Marble Arch Hotel was within a few minutes’ walk to Hyde Park where we visited Speaker’s Corner and the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial fountain. A great benefit of this hotel was its proximity to the Marble Arch tube station which we took to get just about anywhere we wanted to be within London.

New Orleans and Louisiana are Back on Track!

I’ve just returned from an awe-inspiring trip to Cajun Country Louisiana (Baton Rouge and New Orleans) where I had the opportunity to visit a few plantations and sites of historical importance. First on my lists of sites was the impressive Louisiana State Capitol building which is listed as a National Historic Landmark and built on the former grounds of LSU (Louisiana State University). Standing tall at 34 stories, Louisiana’s State Capitol building holds two proud distinctions; the tallest building in Baton Rouge and the tallest capitol building in the United States. I was surprised to learn that Huey Long, Louisiana’s 40th Governor was buried on the grounds of the capitol which was a project he championed as governor.Continue reading
