Review: Costa Rica With Tauck Bridges

I have just returned from Costa Rica with Tauck Bridges tour with my son, Rod, his wife Sara, and my two grandchildren Billy, 10 and Chloe 7. In Costa Rica, there are only two seasons, rainy and less rainy. Our vacation was in July, and yes, it rained every day. Despite that, it was a great trip, and we quickly got used to doing activities in the rain. When we went to Tortuguero, it rained all day long. This ruined our planned excursions to look for wildlife, but we enjoyed the boat ride in the rain.

In my life, I have been privileged to be able to travel to many places wonderful and experience, if only for a few days at a time, a sampling of the different environments and cultures that make our world so fascinating. In November, my sister and I completed the Patagonian Grand Adventure with Trafalgar. The landscapes in which we traveled on this adventure have now moved a “want to see” destination to the top of a very short list of favorite places I have been fortunate enough to see. Traveling with my sister, we began our adventure in the starting point for many deep southern adventures: Santiago, Chile.

Review: Norse Legends With Holland America Line

From June 4th – 11th, we had the pleasure of sailing with Holland America Line on its “Norse Legends” cruise. From every perspective, this trip had a wow factor of 100! Our ship, the ms Koningsdam, was an oceangoing destination in its own right. Our stateroom with veranda was lovely and the service from our largely Indonesian crew was impeccable.
