For my first time visiting South America, I knew the best way to do it would be with an escorted tour. Between the hysteria by the media about an exaggerated public health advisory, the language barrier, and sheer amount of things to do and see, I would probably still be planning this vacation if I were doing it on my own. Not to mention how much more I would be spending to stay in comparable hotels and transportation. I recently traveled with Avalon Waterways (a Globus family brand) on their Capitals of Central Europe itinerary. It was a beautiful 10 day trip from Prague to Budapest on the suite ship, the Avalon Panorama. The Avalon Panorama is pretty much a mobile 5 star hotel. In fact, it’s better than a 5 star hotel because with Avalon, you get to wake up in a new city every morning. From the wall-to-wall open air windows, classy modern decor, and full bathroom, you’ll find it’s hard to leave when your trip is over.
