Winter time is a great time to flee the cold and enjoy the wonderful weather of the Caribbean. Cruise prices are typically low between Thanksgiving and Christmas so I decided to escape to the Western Caribbean with Carnival onboard the Carnival Vista. Houston’s proximity to the Port of Galveston makes it easy to drive to the ship in less than an hour.

Hello, future cruise travelers! I traveled solo for the first time on the beautiful Carnival Vista. It was a short 4 Night Western Caribbean cruise with Carnival out of Galveston, Texas. At first, I didn’t know what to think or whether I would like traveling by myself, but it was fantastic! Every day I would meet new people either at a venue, dining, or out by the pool. From there, we would meet up for shows, did shore excursions together, or dine again for breakfast, lunch or dinner. So for you worrywarts who are anxious about traveling by yourself, think nothing of it and just do it! You won’t be sorry! With the friends that I met, we’re already planning on our next voyage out to sea together!

My family and I recently cruised the Caribbean with Royal Caribbean on the Harmony of the Seas, one of the biggest cruise ships ever built. We took a 7 night Western Caribbean with Royal Caribbean cruise with stops to Coco Cay, Costa Maya, Cozumel and Roaten, Honduras.

When you think of the Caribbean, what comes to mind? Mexico, Jamaica, blue water, jets skis, sun bathing on the beach, and much more. We never take into account the daily meal expenses, time at each port if we decide to cruise, and what kinds of activities can be enjoyed with a limited amount of time.
