Switzerland is the best place to visit on vacation for any reason, and at any time! Switzerland’s mountainous landscape changes with the season, and there are tons of activities available year-round.
June – August
Many say Switzerland is a winter destination, but the summer is just as fun in the alpine country. Take a boat tour of Lake Lucerne or travel to Lake Constance, the popular summer destination for swimming, sailing, and other fun outdoor activities.
September – November
The fall months are the perfect time to visit Switzerland. The summer crowds are gone, the temperatures are starting to cool down, and the landscape transforms with orange, red, and yellow tones. It’s the perfect time to hike all over the country. Plus, the Culturescapes festival is hosted by all the major cities to honor the art and artists of a chosen country each autumn since 2003.
December – February
In the winter, Switzerland transforms into the ultimate winter wonderland! There is snow, decorative lights everywhere, Christmas Markets with the perfect gifts and winter accessories, and the best ski resorts and spas are available. Visiting one of the snow-covered small skiing villages is a must during the winter.
March – May
As the snow starts to melt, March brings warmer temperatures and the bright new colors of spring to the swiss mountains. You can walk through the city the whole day and enjoy the warmer temperatures. Or take a train ride to the Top of Europe, where you can play with snow without freezing.
If you have ever asked yourself when is the best time to visit Switzerland, then the answer is at any point of the year! It really all depends on what activities you want to do or which sites you want to see.
