Learn More About Azamara Cruises
Azamara is a luxury cruise line that offers voyages to exotic locations worldwide. The company was founded in 2007 when Royal Caribbean acquired two R-class ships from Pullmantur Cruises that were initially planned to go to Celebrity Cruises. The first two ships of Azamara, Azamara Quest, and Azamara Journey, were put into service in 2000. In 2009, the company underwent a rebranding and was renamed Azamara Club Cruises. Azamara became famous for its commitment to providing top-tier service, which includes immersive travel experiences and Destination Immersion®.
Today, Azamara is owned by a private investment group, following its sale by Royal Caribbean in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The company's fleet includes four ships, all of which are renovated R-class ships that were initially built for Renaissance Cruises between 1997 and 2001. These ships, the Azamara Quest, Azamara Journey, Azamara Pursuit, and Azamara Onward, can carry a maximum of 686 passengers each and sail under the flag of Malta.
Azamara's mission is to provide travelers with a more relaxed pace of travel, giving them the opportunity to fully appreciate the landscapes, culture, and people of the destinations they visit. In addition to onboard amenities, such as top-tier dining, wellness treatments, and personalized service, Azamara offers shore excursions that allow travelers to explore the world in a deeper and more meaningful way.
As a luxury cruise line, Azamara provides inclusive amenities, such as gratuities, select standard spirits, international beers and wines, bottled water, soft drinks, specialty coffees and teas, and self-service laundry, among others. Guests in Veranda Plus staterooms receive additional amenities, such as complimentary internet, a free bag of laundry service, and priority embarkation and debarkation. Suite guests enjoy even more amenities, including English butler service, free bag of laundry service, complimentary seating in specialty restaurants, and in-suite afternoon tea service, among others.
Azamara has received several accolades, including being named the Best Boutique Cruise Line by USA Today's 10 Best in 2019 and the Best Luxury Cruise Line Itineraries by Cruise Critic's Editor's Picks in 2019. With a focus on providing unparalleled service, exquisite dining, and immersive travel experiences, Azamara is an ideal choice for travelers who want to explore the world in style and luxury.
