Walvis Bay, with a population of about 45,500, is located in Namibia. The bay has been successful for sea vessels because of its natural deepwater harbor. Being rich in plankton and marine life, these waters attract large numbers of whales attracting whalers and fishing vessels. The harbor's value in relation to the sea route around the Cape of Good Hope had caught the attention of world powers since it was discovered.
The Walvis Bay Lagoon consist of
over 70,000 birds such as flamingos and pelicans. There are boat
tours that take you up close and personal. Bring a camera to
take pictures of these wonder group of birds.
Visit the oldest desert in the world, The Namib Desert. The
dessert is 80 million years old and has high moving dunes. A
great to historical location to visit.
