  Though Sunset Boulevard is long, the area most worth exploring is from Doheny Drive all the way to the North Crescent Heights Boulevard. This is just shy of 2 miles and is most walkable.

  Relax at the Santa Monica Pier

  Los Angeles's Santa Monica Pier is filled with many different entertainment options that are perfect for all ages. The pier first opened in 1909 and has changed a lot since then, as it now boasts a Ferris wheel, a beach, and lots of vendors and concessions. The Santa Monica Pier rose to fame after being featured in countless films and TV shows that were filmed in Los Angeles. Some popular movies filmed here include 2012, Forrest Gump, and Iron Man, among others.

  The pier is open for 24 hours a day; however, most of the things to do here open at 11 a.m. and close around midnight. It's best to visit either right when it opens or later at night after dinner. This is when the least among of people are here!

  Hike up to the Hollywood Sign

  The Hollywood Sign is genuinely the most iconic landmark in all of Los Angeles, but many visitors don't know that you can actually hike one of three routes up to where the sign is located. This sign was first built in 1923 and spans about 350 feet. The easy trail to the top is the Mt. Hollywood trail, which is only about 3 miles long. The moderate trail is the Brush Canyon Trail, while more advanced hikers can take the Cahuenga Peak Hike. Each trail ends right up near the sign and offers spectacular views.

  You should wear sturdy walking shoes and pack water for your hike to the top. Opt to hike earlier in the morning or later at night to avoid the Los Angeles sun and heat.

  The Hollywood Walk of Fame was first established in early 1960 and has become one of the most-walked areas of the city. It covers 15 blocks now, and new celebrities receive stars on the street annually. Together, these three are photographed most often.

  Rodeo Drive is home to the most luxurious shops in all of Los Angeles. It's considered to be one of the world's most famous streets, and many celebrities are often photographed shopping. The road goes on for about 2 miles and features around 100 different stores. Not a fan of shopping? You can also consider following the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style, which was created in 2003. It features some style legends, including Tom Ford, Gianni and Donatella Versace, and Giorgio Armani.

  Rodeo Drive is very walkable and extremely picturesque. Don't forget your camera and wear solid walking shoes. The most famous part of Rodeo Drive to explore is called Two Rodeo Drive. This area is said to look like a street straight out of Europe.

  Visit The Last Bookstore

  The Last Bookstore is a used bookshop and record store that is trendy and iconic. Throughout the shelves are art installations made of books, making the entire bookshop extremely picturesque, even for those who don't love literature. This bookshop first opened back in 2005 and has boomed into popularity since. It's currently the biggest secondhand bookstore in all of Los Angeles and is located inside an old bank! You can still find the bank's leftover pieces today, including the pillars and hidden bank vault.

  Don't forget your camera; the multiple sculptures throughout look like a scene straight out of Harry Potter. The majority of items inside this shop are affordable, and purchasing an item from here is a great way to support an indie bookstore.

  See Los Angeles from above at the Griffith Observatory

  The Griffith Observatory first opened in 1935 but sits upon land that was historically where Spanish settlers lived. The area was later overtaken by a journalist named Griffith J. Griffith in 1882. He loved the area so much that he decided to turn it into a park, and he later decided an observatory would also be of great use to the city. The Griffith Observatory famously faces the Hollywood sign and is said to be one of the best places to see Los Angeles from above. It's one of Los Angeles's most magnificent viewpoints that shouldn't be overlooked.

  Try to go to the Griffith Observatory in the morning on a weekday. This is the least busy time so there won't be any crowds. This is also a great spot to watch the sunset, but it can get quite crowded.

  Los Angeles's Disneyland Park officially opened in 1955 and is part of the Walt Disney theme parks worldwide. In fact, it was the first Disney park to be built!   Melrose Avenue is another one of Los Angeles's most famous streets. It's filled with places to go shopping and great restaurants. Compartes Chocolatier is another of the most-visited spots along Melrose Avenue and is said to be the best place to get bonbons in the area.

  This street dates back to the late 18th century and is considered to be one of the city's most historic areas. Some people even say that it's where Los Angeles was officially born. Today, Olvera Street is a popular Mexican marketplace lined with many great vendors. You can find everything from art to unforgettable souvenirs.
