Dakar, with a population of 2.5 million, is the capital city of Senegal, located on the Cape Verde Peninsula. With its port position on the western edge of Africa, it has an advantage departure point for trans-Atlantic and European trade. Dakar is a major administrative center which is home to the Senegal National Assembly and Senegal Presidential Palace.

Goree Island is an island that consist of colonial style houses that was used in slave trading. Now it is a historic site and also a beach. A great site to learn about some history of the area or to take advantage of the beautiful beach.
