Guaranteed Low Prices on Emerald Princess Cruises
Overall, very nice cruise although Princess skipped Newport due to stated environmental concerns
Staff at Port Lauderdale were extremely helpful and caring! The same cannot be said for disembarking at Los Angeles where I found myself having to hire a taxi to take me to the airport, I was unaware that I could have purchased a seat on a bus chartered by the Princess Emerald! I have disability problems and these incident cast a shadow over what had been a delightful trip. Also assumed luggage paid for in advance, WRONG again at LA had to pay #350 for bag to San Francisco
Jerry is wonderful, professional and courteous. He took the time to listen and get me exactly what I requested. Jerry never made me feel rushed and took his time with me and we got it right the first time. I will book with this Affordabletours.com and my Travel Agent Jerry in the future. (Believe it or not this is the first time I used Affordabletours.com)
An amazing trip. Saw in very good detail.
Ship was very clean, but showing its age, with some visible dry rot in interior public bathrooms and other places. Nice but not what I expected from Princess which at least used to be a step higher than similar cruise lines.
Princess tries hard and for the most part does not disappoint but this ship is showing its age and is ready for its dry dock appointment next month.
Affordable Tours has always given us the best price on each trip we've booked. The service is always prompt and courteous.
The service is good in overall and the specialty restaurants are very good to try.
Our trip on Emerald Princess was great as we expected.
I took a Princess cruise to Alaska, which was fantastic. My only complaint pertained to some idiosyncrasies with Princess. First, they kept sending me info and other items intended for other passengers. They seemed a little confused about this. This was partly due to the fact that the steward kept misreading the cruise number (which was also my cabin number) as the intended party to receive items. The other issue pertained to a free specialty dinner I was promised. The dinner was complements of Affordable Tours, my travel agent. I called Princess to determine how to set up reservations in advance. I felt this was necessary since I wanted to also book excursions in advance, and I didn\'t want to have conflicting dates. I was told by Princess that the complementary dinner would be via a voucher provided upon boarding, but if I wanted to ensure I had a dinner reservation on a specific date and time, I should book online in advance -- and pay for it. That\'s what I did. Of course, this only created accounting problems for Princess throughout the cruise. On the day of boarding, I spoke with the concierge staff to ensure my account was credited accordingly. They did not have a record in their files of my credit, even though I had a voucher in my hand. A couple of days later, they found the record, but I was told to give the voucher to the host in the restaurant and they would adjust it. The host didn\'t seem to know what to do, and told me to keep the voucher. It wasn\'t until the morning of debarkation, after standing in front of the main desk for an hour before they finally cleared up the fiasco. In the end, they not only credited me the dinner amount, but gave me a second credit. Since I was not out any money, I didn\'t argue the point any further -- plus, I had a plane to catch. That said, the food on the ship was excellent. I had a delightful time, me some very nice people, and saw fantastic sceneries. I would recommend this cruise line and trip. I would also recommend that you closely watch your billing.
Helpful, efficient service!
This was my first Princess Cruise and I found the ship to be very nice, and a little more of a mature crowd with fewer children than what I've cruised with in the past. It was a great time!
Wonderful ports of call
great purchase overall. The itinerary of the cruise was exactly what we've hoped for. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!!!
Great staff and wonderful entertainment. Food in Crown Grill very disappointing and not worth the up-charge. Sabatini's was excellent and beautiful ambience. Dining room food was good but not exceptional. Wines were reasonably priced but hard liquor drinks badly over-priced for what you get. The pours are very skimpy. Overall, very fun trip and would recommend.
Food service was slower than on any cruise I have ever been on. We waited in line every night for any time dining--first time ever.
This was the first time we had a balcony and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We sat on the balcony every day. Also, having a room on the port side meant that we could see the port city from our side of the ship. The food was excellent - better than most other cruises.
A comment on the excursions is necessary. While we enjoyed the excursions ashore and they were as advertised, we were very disappointed that many did not supply the guides with audio transmitters and the passengers with receivers. In crowded conditions with much ambient noise , the commentary was almost impossible to hear and we did not get as much out of the trip that could have been had. The use of audio equipment should be mandatory for all excursions. We feel this is a major problem as the costs of these trips is significant
Disappointed that the mini suite booking did not include dine my way like the trip on Princess last year to Alaska. Will be contacting Princess directly.
