Health and Safety Protocols
MSC has historically maintained high hygiene standards on all their ships, with rigorous cleaning and sanitisation prior, throughout and at the end of each cruise. We have further enhanced these procedures both with respect to public spaces as well as guest cabins and crew accommodations.
High traffic areas on ships are frequently sanitised with thorough cleansing and using a hospital-grade disinfectant. Key areas, which include public venues and toilets, are sanitised hourly and undergo a fogging process at night.
Guest cabins are cleaned twice a day. Once in the morning with thorough cleansing and wiping using a hospital-grade disinfectant and a further second cleaning for the most exposed surfaces, including telephones and remote controls, in the afternoon.
One of the best ways to stay healthy is to keep your hands clean. Handwashing stations and hand sanitisers are widely available around the ship. MSC has increased the availability of hand sanitiser stations and enforce hand cleansing at all onboard food and other venues.
All MSC Cruises’ ships are equipped with a well-resourced Medical Centre that is supervised by the ship’s doctor and other medical personnel and which provides a range of medical services for everyone on board.
MSC's medical staff are fully qualified and experienced medical professionals who all follow World Health Organization COVID-19 Recommendations for Healthcare Providers, as well as the recommendations of various health authorities.
Guests who suffer from flu-like symptoms are obliged to stay in their cabin and should contact the onboard Medical Centre as soon as possible. MSC's professional medical team will take care of them there and follow a clear protocol.
FOOD HYGIENE PRACTICES STANDARDS
Guests should wash their hands before entering any of the onboard food venues. There are handwashing stations and sanitiser at the entrance and exit points, with dedicated personnel to ensure that as guests utilize them.
ENTERTAINMENT RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
- There is frequent cleaning and disinfection of all recreational equipment, toys, games and Kids’ Club facilities (after every use), plus frequent open deck sanitisation of outdoor furniture, sports equipment, pool and aquaparks.
- Spa and gym facilities are sanitised after every use.
CREW MEMBERS PRACTICES STANDARDS
- MSC ensures that all crew members follow strict health and safety preventive measures.
- Crew members undergo a daily health check by the medical staff, and if any symptoms, they are not allowed to have any interactions with Guests.
- Crew members follow proper hand washing practices before, during, and after work duty, and wear protective garments, if required.

The MSC Virtuosa is very big with extra decks of rooms. The overall theme of music is evident in the artwork and various main dining room names. The major public event areas are similar to smaller ships with some extra venues such as a water par and large children's, teen areas.. The water park with its three slides is well designed and suitable for all ages There are two swimming pools and numerous hot tubs with water jets; outside and under a moveable roof. There is no adult only swimming area. The interior room was spacious and comfortable with room enough for dressing and sitting at the small desk. The bath was equally comfortable.Housekeeping was excellent. Dining was excellent in the main dining room or buffet. The menus always had plenty of options and focused on a variety of themes, cultures and tastes. Special requests were often made available if possible.There were several special evenings labeled optional Elegant or White night. The assigned early dining time worked well for attending later shows and events. But there were times we chose to eat in the MarketPlace Buffet later to accommodate special events such as the optional Carousel show. Entertainment in the theater was a variety of dance and song by the ship's cast and a few solo performances of comedians and singers. Each evenings show lasted about 35 minutes. Not all the bars and lounges had evening entertainment. Some were limited to specific hours. There was always some themed party from 10 PM on. During the day there were plenty of exercise events, a few trivia and an arts and crafts event along with retail shop events. Each port was fairly close to the city to walk to or a shuttle was provided.
Everything was exactly as described
We had an excellent service from Jason Hogan of Affordable tours. Unfortunately, we tested positive to covid-19 before boarding the Seaview of MSC cruises. So we were denied boardiing by MSC cruises. This is why we have not answer about the accomodations on the ship
After two cancellations by MSC due to COVID, our cruise was great. A little disappointed because the balcony for the suite was closed off and couldnt be used.
I truly loved the cruise, glad that I upgraded to the Yacht Club suites. It was a very relaxing week of cruising. Well Done MSC.
The agent was so helpful throughout the process and it was a seamless experience booking with affordable tours because of her great service. I plan on booking only through this site now.
The interior room was roomy with enough storage for the two of us for 14 days. The room staff kept the room clean and tidy. The dining room and buffet staff were 5 star and the many food offerings were better than average with some exceptional items. At all times there were staff to assist us throughout the ship. Many, including management, took the time to speak with us about our experiences, about the ship, themselves and offer useful advice. The ship is well maintained. There were staff always cleaning and wiping down surfaces. Entertainment during the day was sparse. Every evening there was a main show in the theater and it was well executed and entertaining. There were some movie nights and one or two late night clubs offered DJ music or games. The weather allowed us full use of the pools and hot tubs. All were clean and well attended by staff. Additional towels were available. The gym machines could use some updating. Some machines were in need of repair and the cycling screen were not functioning properly.
Multiple languages was a bit confusing sometimes. Staff members offered different answers to same question sometimes. Covid adjustments were exceptional. Staff very friendly and attentive to covid rules. Gorgeous ship but fewer entertainment options than normally on big cruises. Probably due to covid and trying to staff entertainers, e.g., comedy shows, broadway-like shows. Food excellent and managed very well.

This was my 1st experience on MSC cruiseline. I have been on several NCL and Celebrity cruises. I really enjoyed the MSC cruise it was a great value for your money. I was quite a bit less expensive than the same cruise on NCL and Celebrity. I really enjoyed the shows and the Spa on the cruise. The thermal Spa was amazing on the MSC Meraviglia. I prepaid for the SPA and the internet before leaving home so it was discounted quite a bit from the prices you would pay onboard for the same services. The ship was kept very clean during my stay.

This was our first MSC cruise. As an Italian line, the majority of the passengers are from countries other than the USA. About 20% of the passengers were from the States, so traveling with a companion, family or friends, I believe, made the trip more enjoyable. The Seaside is a smart ship, so booking specialty restaurants and shows were a simple process. There are 4 specialty restaurants, two all inclusive fine dining restaurants and several buffet, pool side options and coffee shops. Beyond the itinerary of this cruise, the theatrical productions were A+, New York quality and not to be missed. Our balcony cabin provided extra living space, were private and the seaboard side of the ship had the best views while in port. The ship is incredibly stunning and activities are available for all ages. The in room television is limited but pay per view is abundant. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the daily specials are abundant. Book your excursions and spa treatments before you sale for special discounts. The spa and beauty salon discounts are good once you board and specials are available for laundry services. The specialty restaurant special promotions were priced well. We highly recommend the Pan Asian restaurant.

Arthur, our booking agent at Affordable Tours, was simply fantastic. If I didn't want him all to myself the next time I need a cruise, I'd tell everyone to ask for him. Well.... I guess I just did. I and two other family members got on the cruise late through a cancellation, and it was a real scramble to get everything in place. Arthur was totally on top of it all, kept calling the cruise line on our behalf, arranging everything when I couldn't get through, and was just as sweet as pie every time I bothered him about something. He is absolutely THE BEST. Though no fault of Arthur's, the cruiseship we were on had some kinks to be worked out. We lost hot water four times in our cabin, of course always right when we needed to take a shower because we were headed out for dinner or an excursion. The t.v. worked very intermittently. They charged for every drink, even non-alcoholic ones (including water), and the drink packages that obviated the need to pay every time were VERY expensive. (e.g. $29 day/per person for non-alcoholic drinks). Wifi was quite expensive, too, and then, at least for us, it didn't work. Even the agents on board tasked with helping ppl in this regard couldn't make it work. Nice ship, though, and I imagine they'll get the kinks worked out with time. And the staff was all super nice and accommodating. It was great to have a deck to sit outside by ourselves when we wanted to be alone. All in all, a very diverting experience! (Oh, and the Cirque du Soleil shows were AMAZING!!!) THANK YOU ARTHUR!
