Health and Safety Protocols
Norwegian is going the extra mile to ensure your safety on board and on shore. With Norwegian's Peace of Mind, you can cruise safely with enhanced health and safety protocols and flexible booking. Norwegian has been working closely with the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) and are adding stringent protocols, strategic application and supporting innovation to meet and exceed their standards once those have been finalized by them. The below are the safety measures Norwegian will immediately be implementing fleetwide, with more in development.
ALL-NEW AIR FILTRATION
Installation of medical-grade air-filters, H13 HEPA, that remove 99.95% of airborne pathogens across Norwegian's entire fleet to ensure the air you breathe is clean.
ENHANCED SCREENING PROTOCOLS
All guests will undergo an enhanced pre-embarkation health screening, and those considered at risk will undergo additional screening. Additionally, all crew will undergo extensive screening prior to embarkation and constant monitoring throughout the voyage. Touchless temperature checks and continuous monitoring of guests and crew throughout the voyage will help identify potential health issues, offering an additional layer of prevention and protection.
INCREASED SANITATION MEASURES
All ships are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to every voyage in accordance with company protocols, which are developed in partnership with CDC's Vessel Sanitation Program. Embarkation terminals will be sanitized continuously, and, where possible, fogged before and after each embarkation and debarkation. Further, all staterooms, suites and public areas will be cleaned, sanitized and disinfected at an increased frequency, and including the use of Electrostatic Spray Technology.
RESPONSIBLE SOCIAL DISTANCING
To provide even more space for responsible social distancing, guest capacity on board will be reduced. Staggered embarkation and online check-in will be implemented for proper social distancing. In addition, Norwegian is committed to reducing capacity in all public areas throughout the voyage.
ENHANCED MEDICAL RESOURCES
Onboard medical centers will be fully equipped with the latest testing kits and medical supplies. Norwegian is also increasing the medical team fleetwide. Additionally, each ship has dedicated isolation accommodations should the need arise.
EXTENDED SHIP TO SHORE SAFETY
- Norwegian is partnering with local destinations and tour operators to ensure their industry-leading health and sanitation protocols extend to the shoreside experience.
- Norwegian will only visit safe, open ports of call which may cause changes to your itinerary. Keeping the guests up-to-date with the latest confirmed changes impacting their itineraries is a top priority.

The Norwegian Dawn's architecture is lacking in comfortable areas to just sit and relax. Every inch is either a bar, restaurant, casino, or shop. This leads to a subtle pressure to spend money or drink. There was a distinct lack of cultural activities during the cruise. On past cruises they offered lectures on the locations that we were visiting without trying to sell us merchandise. We has a library that offered a view of the ocean while enjoying a book. On the Dawn the library is internal, small, and not really serious. My last criticism is that the ship was unable to maintain the air-conditioning in my cabin. Three of the eleven nights were spent with unacceptable heat. On the positive side, the staff and crew were exceptional. We had an upgrade that came with a cabin assistant, butler, and concierge. Our butler and cabin assistant were exceptionally attentive. They worked hard to make us comfortable and well fed. The concierge was somewhat less present, and in the end he never learned mine and my sister's names and all his communications were incorrectly addressed as a married couple with my sister\'s last name. In general, the food across the restaurants was excellent. In all the meals there were only two dishes that weren't up to expectations. The Moderno Churrascaria was exceptional, and the French specialty restaurant, Le Bistro, was beautiful with very interesting and tasty food. The cruise itinerary was good. The selection of ports was a good blend of similar but different West Indies ports along with US territories. In conclusion, this cruise really only suffered by comparison. If I'd had no previous experience, then this cruise would have been as magical as others. NCL is a fine cruise line that has handled COVID protocols extremely well both pre-boarding and while sanitizing on board. My issues are personal preferences aside from the AC malfunction.

My cruise experience was better than expected. I enjoyed the food, the shore excursions & the itinerary. My only complaint is the cost to travel as a single.
My travel companions and I had a wonderful time on the NCL Dawn, visiting the Canadian Maritime province and New England, despite the weather. The entire cruise staff provided excellent customer service and was always looking for ways to make the cruise as enjoyable as possible.
This cruise was wonderful. The specialty dining was great, the ship and room choices on target and the personal accommodating and knowledgeable.
Some aspects of the Norwegian Dawn were not as enjoyable. These were: The food was not great; The music in bars too loud; There were limited quiet spots on the ship to be able to read a book; Only one cocktail lounge (Star bard) was available to enjoy conversation and most times they have Private Functions there. ON the positive note: The staff was friendly and helpful; The entertainment (shows) were enjoyable.
Our room was wonderful. Nice and quiet. We were on starboard side and got to have a view going in and out of port. Our balcony was large and the room was a great size. I appreciate the efforts for getting upgraded. It was a wonderful experience working with Affordable Tours this first time. I will gladly use again in the near future and suggest to friends.

Loved the cruise. Norwegian apparently manages their ships well. The staff seemed to be happy and the service was excellent, the entertainment was spectacular, and so was the food. I would recommend this cruise line and your services to anyone. It was exactly as expected.

The cruise was very good, but we expected more variety in the on-board events, particularly during the at sea days. The talks were just to sell cruises and jewelry. The trivia games were fun, but they could have given a prize worth a couple of dollars, maybe even a t-shirt. The food was excellent, especially in all of the sit-down restaurants. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of all parts of the ship and the tremendous effort by the crew to constantly clean and sanitize. They even immediately picked up small pieces of paper on the carpets. The cabin steward was very attentive and pleasant.
