Fakarava island is part of an atoll located in the French Polynesia. It is one of the largest of the Tuamotu atolls. Fakarava is classified as by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve. It has a wide and deep lagoon with two passes. The main village of Fakarava is called Rotoava.
