Praslin is the second largest island in the Seychelles. It was first named Isle de Palmes by explorer Lazare Picault, but was renamed to Praslin in honor of the Duc de Praslin, Cesar Gabriel de Chioseul. It is home to the beautiful Valle de Mai Nature Preserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Praslin is known for its beautiful beaches and tropical forests with birds such as the endemic Seychelles Bulbul and the Seychelles Black Parrot.
