Overview

Rarotonga is the vibrant center of the Cook Islands. It's circular shape is dominated by high mountain peaks from which lush rain forests cascade to the shore. The island is almost completely encircled by a reef, which harbors a lagoon of clear turquoise waters and many inviting white sand beaches. Beyond the reef, the indigo blue of the ocean provides a vivid contrast and a bountiful supply of fish.

Attractions in Rarotonga is the Cook Island Cultural Village which offers a theatrical display of culture. There are cultural displays which you will see how they make fire, traditional medicine, and coconut husking.

The Aitutaki Lagoon is also a major attraction for any visitor. Enjoy clear water and cool ocean breezes throughout the day. Take a dip or better yet, go snorkeling in the crystal blue water. Take a walk on the shore to end your day and absorb all that nature has to offer you.
