Santarem, located on Amazon's waters, is a very key element in regards to trading. Santarem is also known as "The Wedding of the Waters" or "Meeting of the Waters" because it is where the Rio Tapajos and the Amazon river meet. Santarem is also known for its white clean beaches and beautiful rain forest.

Another site not pass up is the Center of the Preservation of Indian Art. Here,
there are beautiful collections of Indian artifacts. The walls, made of adobe,
were painted by the Indians. This is the largest building in the village.
