Overview

Husavík is a small town in the north of Iceland at the shore of Skjalfandi bay. This small town only consists of 2,500 inhabitants, Husavík town on the peninsula Tjornes and further south the agricultural area Reykjahverfi. Husavik is a perfect center for individual tourists traveling in the northeast of Iceland. Husavík Church has been around since 1907, served as a symbol for Husavík, regarded by most Icelanders to be the most beautiful wooden church in the region.

Things to Do

Husavik is a fisherman's town so if you want to enjoy a relaxing day of fishing this is the place. No matter which type of fishing you like Trout, Salmon, or ice fishing you won't be disappointed.

You can also take a trip to go whale watching. This is a very exciting trip you can see blue whale, humpback whales and even fin whales so if you find yourself in Husavik give it a try.

Or if that's not your cup of tea then take a trip to see the beautiful glaciers. If you take this trip you can tour a glacier with your own snowmobile.
