La Coruna, Spain has a population of about 250,000. It is a port on the Atlantic Ocean and provides a distribution point for farming goods from the region. The important industry of the province is based on the shipyards and metal works of the neighbor city of Ferrol, though there is an oil refinery in La Coruna itself. The city is the site of the Roman Tower of Hercules, which is a lighthouse in nonstop operation for nearly 2,000 years. The city has been re-launched over the last few years with better access, an enhanced cultural, sporting, leisure and scientific infrastructure, the recovery of the shoreline and the strengthening of the tourist sector makes it the perfect place to visit.
