East London is a city in southeast South Africa with a population of over 251,000 and over 700,500 in the metropolitan area. The city is situated on the Indian Ocean coast, between the Buffalo River, and the Nahoon River, and is the country's only river port. A British fort, named Fort Glamorgan, was built at the site of the city in 1847, and annexed to the Cape Colony on the same year. Three villages grew around the fort, and then were combined to form the town of East London.
Snorkeling and diving is a major
attraction here in East London. There is an abundant resource of
fish here so spearing fish for dinner is okay. The crystal clear
waters gives you the advantage of seeing fish all over you and
even a few yards of you. A great activity of the whole family.
The East London Aquarium and Whale Watching Deck is a great
place for fun with the whole family. See over 400 species of
fish, seals, and penguins. Plenty of shows to keep you occupied
for the whole day.
