Gaspé is a city at the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula in eastern Quebec, Canada. It has a total population of about 15,000. Gaspé is where Jacques Cartier took possession of Nouvelle-France (now Canada) in the name of Francis I of France on July 24, 1534. The Gaspé Peninsula is a North American peninsula on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River, in Quebec. It extends into the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and is bounded on the south by New Brunswick, from which it is partially divided by Chaleur Bay and the Restigouche River.
A great area to visit is the Forillon National
Park. Here you see beautiful panoramic views of the Gulf of St.Lawrence. There
is also a walk the steep limestone cliffs. At times you will see some deer,
black bears, or whales way out in the gulf. Photo opportunities everywhere.
The Gaspe Peninsula offers rugged coastal scenery that is just beautiful. Photo
opportunities everywhere you look. You will also see some farmhouses and
lighthouses. The cool clean ocean air makes this place perfect.
