San Juan, located halfway between the Bahamas and the northeast coast of South America, is a major port and tourist resort. It is the capital of Puerto Rico and it’s largest city. San Juan has become a popular destination for cruises due to its history, the city life, and of course the beaches. It is the largest processing center on the island producing sugar, cement, pharmaceuticals, metal products, and tobacco.

  • Old San Juan - Filled with historic sites, this part of Puerto Rico is also known for romance and enhancement.

  • Go to the Garita del Diablo and learn the legend behind the name of this historical place.
  • Take a tour of the Bacardi Visitor Center, learn about the history of rum, and the production process.
  • For a calm evening walk, visit Paseo de la Princesa, lined with palm trees, statues, benches, and many coffee shops. The promenade has the Raices Fountains, La Princesa, and other restored landmarks along the way.
Family Friendly
  • Paseo Puerta de Tierra is a 5.8 km trail built specifically for cyclists and pedestrians.
  • Out of all the forts in Puerto Rico, Castillo San Felipe del Morro is a must go. It has six floors and there are many activities for children. Make sure to pack your camera for all the breath-taking views.
  • Walk through Luis Muñoz Rivera Park with landscape gardens, a statue, and a fountain. This amazing park also provides access to the beach.

Many professional athletes originate from Puerto Rico, mostly in baseball, gymnastics, and boxing.

Parking garage is a short walk from the cruise terminal.

Traveling from the San Juan International Airport - Take Baldorioty Avenue. Follow Baldorioty Ave. to San Juan (follow the signs). On the right, you will see a sign for Puentes Dos Hermanos (Condado Lagoon); stay in the left-hand lane and you will enter Puerta de Tierra. After three traffic lights, you will see the waterfront. Continue on Concepcion de Garcia Ave. until you reach the port.

From Luis Munoz Marin International Airport Exit the airport merging onto A-26 (Expreso Roman Baldorioty De Castro) towards San Juan. At the completion of A-26, the road will split with Yacht Club to the left and the Condado Lagoon to the right. Turn left onto C-1S/Avenida Manuel Fernandez Juncos. Continue to your right past the yacht club where the Avenida Manuel Fernandez Juncos will become Calle Villa Verde. At the light, turn right onto Calle Lindbergh which will take you to the port entrance.
