Cartagena is a large seaport on the north coast of Colombia. It has a population of roughly 1,000,000 people. It was founded in 1533 by� Pedro de Heredia, and named after the port of Cartegena in Spain's Murcia region. It was a major center of early Spanish settlement in America, and continues to be an economic hub as well as a very popular tourist destination.

One of the oldest buildings here in Cartagena is the San Felipe de Barajas Castle. This was used as a defense in colonial times. Great architecture of the building makes this place great for photos.
