Belgium Tours Travel Tips

  • Belgians speak three main languages – Dutch, German, and French. The preferred language varies depending on what part of the country you're traveling. You will be able to get by with English in popular tourist areas.
  • Cycling enthusiasts will find Belgium a paradise with its well-maintained network of cycling paths. Whether it's a leisurely ride through the countryside or a more challenging route in the hills of the Ardennes, cycling tours offer a unique way to experience the country's landscapes.
  • Beer is a must-try beverage in Belgium – the country is famous for its wide range of beer options, but use caution when consuming. Beer in Belgium has a higher average alcohol count than other parts of the world.
  • For beach lovers, the Belgian coast presents a completely different aspect of touring Belgium. The coastline, stretching about 65 kilometers, is dotted with charming seaside towns and sandy beaches, perfect for a summer day's relaxation or a brisk walk in the off-season.
  • Most stores are closed on Sundays, so plan in advance when getting food and check times for attractions.
  • Transportation is another benefit of booking on a tour. With all transport arranged, you don't need to worry about navigating the Belgian roads or public transport systems. This means more time enjoying the sights and less time dealing with logistics.
  • In Flanders, you'll encounter hearty stews like 'stoofvlees,' often accompanied by Belgian fries, considered some of the best in the world. Wallonia offers an array of cheese and meat products, with dishes like 'Boulets à la Liégeoise' meatballs in a sweet and sour sauce. And, of course, no touring Belgium experience is complete without sampling the world-renowned Belgian chocolates and a variety of craft beers, each with its unique flavor profile.
  • Safety and comfort are top priorities on Belgium guided tours. The tour operators ensure that each aspect of the tour is safe, from the activities planned to the accommodation provided.

Reviews for Belgium Tours and Vacations

Most of the hotels were acceptable except for one in Bremen that was old, tired and needs major remodeling/updating. At this time we are not sure if we would book another trip with this Operator.

Cristina W

This was a fabulous tour. There was ample time for excursions and free time in most of the places we stopped. The tour guides were knowledgeable, witty, and helpful in making suggestions of what to do when we had free time. Especially loved our guide who was with us for the 10 days. He is one of the best guides that I've had. Also the woman that did our tour in London to the London Tower and the Cathedral was excellent. The only thing I would change is adding some time in Amsterdam and Belgium. We could have used more time in Brussels and Bruges.

Jeanne Z

The trip was fine an pretty much what I expected. It was really hard with no porters and we had to drag around our luggage at our age. It was very difficult. The food everywhere was horrendous. Every breakfast with the exception of Paris was very good. The trip group is extremely too large, 45. It was too much for 1 guide to handle. No trip should b over 30. I had always gone Globus an everything was fine. This was my first Cosmos trip.
