Brazil Tours Travel Tips

  • The official language in Brazil is Portuguese. It differs from all of the other South American countries that speak Spanish. If you're traveling to multiple countries on the continent, be prepared to encounter a new language to communicate.
  • If you get the chance, visit during one of the major festivals like Carnival or New Year celebrations. Places like Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo hold massive street parties and festivities.
  • Check to see if you need a visa to travel to Brazil. Brazil recently eased restrictions of traveling from the US, but other nationalities may still require a visa before arriving.
  • The Amazon Rainforest is a prime destination for eco-tourists. On tours to Brazil, venturing into this vast jungle offers opportunities for wildlife watching, river cruises, and learning about the rich biodiversity and indigenous cultures. The Pantanal, the world's largest tropical wetland area, is another must-visit for wildlife enthusiasts. It's one of the best places in Brazil to spot jaguars, capybaras, and a myriad of bird species.
  • For beach lovers, Brazil's coastline stretches over 7,000 kilometers, boasting some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Places like Fernando de Noronha, an archipelago off the northeast coast, are a paradise for snorkeling and diving, offering clear waters and abundant marine life.
  • Hiking enthusiasts will find their bliss in the Chapada Diamantina National Park, known for its breathtaking landscapes of valleys, waterfalls, and caves. Brazil guided tours here offer challenging treks and the reward of stunning natural scenery.
  • In Brazil, each region boasts its own culinary specialties. In the north, dishes like Moqueca, a flavorful fish stew, showcase the influence of African and Indigenous cuisine. In the south, the Churrasco style of barbecued meats highlights the country's ranching culture. No tour to Brazil is complete without trying Feijoada, a hearty bean and meat stew that's considered Brazil's national dish.
  • Exploring the street food scene is an essential part of touring Brazil. Snacks like Pão de Queijo (cheese bread) and Acarajé (a spicy shrimp-filled dough) offer quick, delicious tastes of local flavors. For a sweet treat, Brigadeiros, chocolate truffles are a must-try.

Reviews for Brazil Tours and Vacations

The trip was amazing, our tour director was fabulous. The trip itinerary was better than expected. The hotels were fantastic with the exception of the Hilton in Rio which was way too busy big , commercial and bureaucratic. Not a good way that end a fantastic tour. Note That due to a national airline strike we had to leave Buenos Aires a day early and had a difficult two stop 14 hour journey. We had an additional day in Inguasau Falls and our director arranged a fabulous visit to a local village which was a highlight of the trip.

We were not made aware of that Amazon portion of the tour is an extension of the tour. Due to draught for past two years, river was dry so could not go for canoe. Globus should have corrected the description of the Amazon tour.
