  • Wear conservative clothes in the summer, choosing lightweight long-sleeved blouses and shirts, and summer-friendly slacks and skirts.
  • Keep documents, such as your passport, close to you, so you can access them immediately.
  • Share your travel itinerary with friends and family so they can easily find and contact you, if necessary.

Reviews for Romania Tours and Vacations

There was more "down time" on this trip as compared to any other one I have taken. Romania is not known for their Christmas markets for a good reason. However, the tour guide was wonderful.

Mary R

Enjoyable trip, and our guide was excellent. However, this is not a Christmas Market tour. There were three small markets in total. It would have been better to describe this as a Romanian tour with the addition of three small Christmas markets. The hotel in Mercury Airport Hotel in Sibiu was a disaster. The meals were served cold, the staff was overly unfriendly (except for the man who ran the breakfast, he was very friendly and nice.). Multiple guests had people coming into their rooms at night because the room door didn't lock. The hotel itself was located far from any restaurant or shopping, so there was little to do.

James M

The Gate 1 Discovery tours are very good and well worth the extra cost. We had only 16 participants on the trip and everyone got along well. They used the large bus and everyone had their own seat if they wanted it. The hotels on trip were above average.
