    It takes about two hours to tour the cathedral, which also features the crypts of the former Grand Dukes and Duchesses of Luxembourg. The cathedral is also the site for the ceremony, the Octave of Our Lady of Luxembourg, which takes place the fifth Sunday after the Easter holiday. At this time, thousands of worshippers pray for the protection of the miraculous statue of the Holy Virgin. The statue is then carried during a procession to the av.de la Porte Neuve, where it is placed on a flower-covered altar.

    The Adolphe Bridge

    An iconic landmark in Luxembourg City, the Adolphe Bridge is one of the capital's major tourist sites. It also serves as an important connection between Luxembourg's Ville Haute and Gare quarters. Built between 1900 and 1903, the bridge was known as the largest arch bridge in the world for two years. It was named for the head of state, Grand Duke Adolphe, who served in the role from 1890 to 1905.

    The museum is opened Thursday to Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. It is closed on Tuesdays.

    The museum was designed by the same architect who designed the National Gallery of Art and John F. Kennedy Library - Leoh Ming Pei. Permanent exhibits include works by Cindy Sherman, Steve McQueen, and Andy Warhol. Mudam also features a gift shop and café.

    Casemates du Bock

    Take a tour through the Casemates du Bock, also referred to as the Bock Casemates. This part of the city of Luxembourg features a large expanse of underground tunnels. The tunnels and a fortress were constructed in 1644 to protect the area from invaders.

    This is one of the preferred and popular sites to see in Luxembourg City. The tunnels, which were used as a bomb shelter during the Second World War, were opened for sight-seeing in 1933.

    A large outdoor public area, Place Guillaume II sits a short distance away from Notre Dame Cathedral in the old quarter of Ville Haute. The large public area is home to Luxembourg's City Hall and features a large statue of the former Grand Duke William II sitting on a horse. The attraction often is often used to host concerts.
