Reviews for Mexico Tours and Vacations
Affordable Tours makes it easy to compare tours offered by different operators. While we have booked tours with other operators through Affordable Tours, our favorite remains Gate 1. The recent tour (Colonial Mexico) we took with them was an absolute delight, and a good part of that experience was because of the tour director Liliana Aceves. She was the best - a Mexican with superb command over English and full of knowledge about colonial Mexican history.

This trip on Affordable Tours site was listed as First Class. TOTALLY WRONG! It was more like a backpackers trip with less than 3rd rate hotels, hauling own luggage for distances, couldn’t hear tour leader, no microphone in bus so couldn’t hear after 2nd row of seats. Not my idea of a First Class trip!
Naomi V
This was an excellent tour! Everything went to plan, and our guide was excellent. I salute him for managing a group of 40 people on his own! That being said, I think having a second guide for a group of this size would be prudent. One of the group members suffered an injury and had to go to get stitches. With our guide tending to that, the rest of the group just kind of wandered around. Luckily, no one got lost or had any problems, but I can see how this could go very wrong. One hotel, La Aldea in San Miguel Allende, was a bit below the standard of the other hotels. Its location was excellent but the bathrooms were a bit outdated.
