This was one of the best trips I have ever been on!

The Viking Roof of the World was executed perfectly! We had the same guide for every included excursion and Viking includes excursions at every site. The onboard ship credit that AffordableTours gave us was generous. When translated into Yuan, the Chinese currency used on board, it gave us even more value. The ship is a Chinese ship with Chinese crew, however, so their English was not perfect. We had to speak slowly and repeat our requests sometimes to get the message across. Overall, I would recommend this cruise to anyone interested in a tour of China.

We were more than pleased with the Viking China trip! Our guide was phenomenal and Viking went above and beyond their call of duty in caring for the passengers. A lady in our group fell in the Chongqing airport and broke her hip, having to go to the hospital. Viking pulled one of their English speaking guides and placed him with the couple at the hospital to act as interpreter. Hospital would not go forward with surgery until couple paid. Couple had trouble getting money wired so Viking stepped in to financially cover expenses so surgery could proceed. My husband and I were so impressed!

This was our second Viking trip booked through Affordable Tours. Both were awesome. Five star all the way!

The river cruise portion of the trip was not up to Viking Standards. We understand that they cannot own the ship so we accepted the lower standard of accommodations. However, if this were our first Viking experience we would be hesitant to travel with them again. The onboard staff was outstanding under the circumstances.

This was a fabulous trip.

We have taken four prior Viking River Cruises, and The Imperial Jewels of China has been our best trip. Every aspect of the trip was extremely organized. Cuisine, accommodations, and excursions were all amazing. We left with a wealth of knowledge about China and their culture. Would highly recommend this trip.

BEST WAY TO SEE CHINA.....LIFETIME MEMORIES !

All of my expectations were met. The quality of the cruise, hotel and tour director was first class.

Great experience, amazing destinations!!! This is truly a trio of a lifetime. China needs to be seen and experienced in order to truly appreciate it. This trip gave us that opportunity.

I enjoyed Viking River cruise, A top notch company. They were very pleasant, and a great company that knows how to take care of People.

The Tour Exceeded our expectations in all ways. Viking provided a Tour Escort for a moment that we got off the plane, during the whole tour and until we were back on the plane to return home. The Hotels were Five Star Plus, the Tour Escort was excellent and the crew on the River boat could not do enough to make our trip pleasant. The sites were amazing and we would Highly recommend this tour to everyone.

Our experience -River Cruise Imperial Jewels of China - Destination Beijing-Shanghai September 4 - September 16, 2015 surpasssed all of our expectations. We most definetly will be traveling with Viking again, withing the the following 6 - 8 months..

Traveler should be prepared for very active (walking) tours with lots of steps.

Fabulous experience. Visited major historical and cultural highlights in China over two weeks. Knowledgeable guides and cruise staff with ample opportunity to benefit from educational lectures on board and during excursions. Schedule made efficient use of available time without taxing us. Viking took care of all the details, and usually got us to the front of the line. We even visited an elementary school, and many children came out to entertain us and show us their classrooms, despite the fact that it was Sunday. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in China travel. We had one traveller in our group who was semi-dependant on a wheelchair, and they were very accommodating, such that there was very little in which he could not participate. Hotels we stayed in were 4 to 5 star - magnificent!!

The accommodations on the China Trip was ALL superb-all 5* for sure.

Everything was great. I did ask about tipping because we had had an unpleasant experience at another cruse line, and I was told that tipping was included. It was not but at least is was not mandatory as was with the other group.

Our trip to China was amazing and our tour guide was superior. This is a trip of a life time.

Viking river cruise experience exceeded all my expectations. Look forward in the near future booking another Viking cruise through your company. My agent was efficient and knowledgable. Thank you for beautiful memories of China.

Everything about the trip was awesome. The Viking tour guide was incredible. 

The only thing that was really unsatisfactory was the boarding area for the river boat and the boat it self. It was in good condition and upscale, but the beds were extremely hard and I think Viking misleads people by not telling us it is a boat leased from a Chinese company and not one of their own, which is assumed when booking. I understand there are restrictions imposed by the government but people should be informed it is not one of their boats. Also the boarding area, where we had to lug our carry on bags to, was extremely dirty and unsightly. All in all this was the only negative things, the rest of the trip was outstanding.

This was an exceptional tour. Far exceeded our expection. Highly recommend Viking River Cruise. Very pleased. Will be using them again.

We highly recommend Viking Cruises for anyone wanting to vacation in China. Accommodations were 5-star and our tour escort was outstanding. We were very well taken care of. It was a very stress free vacation.
