Off to Venice via Verona – the setting for Shakespeare’s fabled tragedy of Romeo & Juliet. You’ll see the ancient Roman Arena where gladiators battled – but today serves as the home of the magnificent Arena Opera Festival. From Verona, you’ll continue to romantic Venice, the city of unparalleled beauty. Take a boat to St. Mark’s square and gaze upon the canals with their gondolas and bridges. You can visit an original glassblowing workshop, discover the narrow alleyways of Venice’s Calli, or its ornate palaces at your leisure for the perfect end to your inspiring Italy tour.

Check into your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore this ancient capital. This evening, meet your Tour Director and fellow travelers.

Day 2: ROME.
Steeped in history, the “Eternal City” is vibrantly alive and exciting, and absolutely unique! Start your guided introduction to Rome from St. Peter’s Square, the heart of the Vatican, and see other highlights such as the Colosseum and Circus Maximus. Maybe take an optional tour of the Vatican Museum to discover some unique art masterpieces. (B)

Vistas of rolling hills, cypress trees, terraced vineyards, olive groves, and charming villages form the backdrop as you journey into the heart of Tuscany. Stop in Pisa to enjoy a mini-train ride to the SQUARE OF MIRACLES and see the legendary Leaning Tower. Then, head east to magnificent Florence, “Cradle of the Renaissance.” (B)

Today is devoted to the wonders of Florence, starting with a guided walking tour featuring some of the city’s greatest attractions. See Piazza Santa Croce; world-famous Signoria Square; 13th-century Palazzo Vecchio with its collection of artistic masterpieces and incredible courtyards; Loggia dei Lanzi; the fantastic Duomo with Giotto’s gothic Bell Tower and the Baptistry’s ornate bronze door known as the “Gate of Paradise.” (B,D)

Except for a few minor inconvenience , the trip was excellent

By Patsy K on May 06, 2019

Our one complaint is that the trip was advertised as light walking... We were putting in over 10,000 steps per day, up to 15,000.. My husband has had 3 hip surgeries and has plates in his ankle. We do not consider this light walking. It was very difficult for him to try to keep up with the group and actually gave up a couple of times and stayed behind. If there had been an option for a transfer from the bus to the tour starting point or to dinner we would have gladly paid for him to ride...

The location of the hotel in Rome was in an area far from everything. The area was completely covered in graffiti and appeared to be an area that was not safe to walk about. The 2 dinners that were included in the tour were not very good. This was especially true with the buffet dinner the last night in Venice. Terrible. Not what was expected as all as the rest of the food in Italy was great. Also, knowing our time of arrival at the airport in Rome I would expect not to have to wait 2 1/2 hours for pick up to the Hotel.

By Raj P on Apr 08, 2019

Most of the accommodations are good.In Rome the accommodation is very poor .In three days we moved to 3 rooms all are bad.Ants moving in the bath room and the drainage did not work well.Only one dinner was nice. However there is appreciation for the tour director.Heis awesome.

By Georgina A on Mar 25, 2019

Two of the three hotel rooms were very small. The information warned me but, as an American with size expectations, you may want to reinforce this idea of small hotel rooms even more. I'm petite and my legs were hanging off of a twin size bed.

By Marissa A on Mar 03, 2019

Alessia tour director was so nice and knowlegable. Smiling all the time and helpful. We love her.Laurentia hotel some loud noises at night, no coffee inside the room . Italiana hotel no coffee jnside the room .

I've done four trips with Cosmos, and each time I've been impressed with the level of planning and the strength of the tour leaders. I feel like I'm in good hands on Cosmos trips.

By Dean N on Feb 16, 2019

Our Tour Director Francesco was wonderful. The tour as described. Many excursions offered (for additional cost).

By Julietta C on Feb 03, 2019

Transfer pick up from airport was great. The motor coach was there when I arrived. Very punctual.

By Stephen H on Nov 18, 2018

Our travel consultant, Alfonso was excellent. He was very knowledgable, attentive, and professional. We had a great time visiting Italy; seeing Rome, Florence, and Venice! Our Tour director, Alessia was awesome. She had great energy, experience, clarity, and personalization which made our honeymoon very special. Our bus drivers, Ivan and his father Pino made us feel very safe and no time was wasted. We stayed on schedule and there were no problems. We especially enjoyed meeting all kinds of people from all over the world who shared our vacation with us. We also found time to explore on our own and I would highly recommend using AffordableTours/Cosmos. We are already looking into booking our next trip to see France.

I would like to say that this was a very Pleasant experience ,the only advice I would add to this is if you are going to Europe make sure you exchange you Dollars for Euros before you get to Europe, so you get a better exchange rate, do your home work on the dollar compared to the Euro it will make things easier when buying items don't be afraid to haggle with vendors, and make sure you take a Mastercard and let your bank know ahead of time that your going to Europe.

By Josefa B on Oct 15, 2018

Though the tour guide and bus driver were excellent, the hotels that were chosen on this tour were not up to standards compared to the tour we took with CIE in Ireland.

By Hakim S on Oct 01, 2018

AffordableTours did a FANTASTIC JOB in setting up this trip for us.

By Sally S on Oct 01, 2018

Honestly, it would be nice if some of the optional excursions were included in the all ready paid for costs. The Vatican and Sistine Chapel are a must see in Rome, in my opinion. I didn't realize at first that I had to pay additionally to be included in the tours. Thank you!

By Jennifer P on Sep 17, 2018

Meals at hotels need to be improved, or not included.

By Tamra E on Jun 25, 2018

Accomadations were fine but there were very far from any of the attractions.

By Renee B on May 21, 2018

I was very disappointed with hotel Santa Costanza in Rome. I had ants in my bathroom and bed. Also location wasn't favorable. Hotel Italiana in Florence was very nice. I was disappointed with the single room size at Hotel Poppi in Venice. It was a shoebox and very uncomfortable. the location was way too far away. I would probably not want to book again with Cosmos due to the hotel accommodations.

By Jessica M on Apr 09, 2018

It was a wonderful trip. The tour Director and the driver were wonderful! They were very friendly and they explained to us every single detail. I wanted to thank Clendon for booking a great tour for us. I will definitely recommend Cosmos

By Flavia R on Feb 18, 2018

Since I have participated in order Cosmos tour, it was in line with what I expected. The only comment I would make is that the hotel in Rome was so far from the main area that it was costly to get there on our own. I know they pushed for us to take the metro, but not everyone is interested in getting to a new city and learning how to get to the main square using public transportation.® does not itself offer, service or administer the Travel Packages, and the ultimate terms and conditions of any Travel Package made available via the Site Offerings (including the prices quoted in connection with same) will be determined by the applicable Third-Party Travel Service Provider.® does not represent or warrant that the Price Quotes are accurate, up-to-date or free of error, or that same will be honored by the applicable Third-Party Travel Service Providers.
