    Questions & Answers

Question: What is the difference between a guided tour and an escorted tour? Also, the difference between Budget and Luxury? What is the difference in accommodation?

A guided tour uses local hosts at each hotel to help arrange your day whereas an escorted tour is run entirely by a single tour director. Budget tours are generally 3 stars with hotels located outside the city center and Luxury tours are 5 stars with premium hotels located in the heart of the city.

Question: How many travellers in one group and bus size?

Gate 1 uses an industry standard fully air-conditioned motor coach. The average group size for a Gate 1 escorted tour is 38 to 44 guests.

Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?

Each person is allowed one "check-in," and one "carry-on." Remember to take all valuables with you as "carry-on", because electronic equipment, cameras, laptops, jewelry, business documents and money are not covered by the airlines' liability, so always carry them aboard with you.

Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?

Airfare from your point of origin to and from the trip is not included in the land price.

Hary was the agent and he was knowledgeable, helpful, and responsive. Tour guide was Simon and he was very good. Driver was Offer and he was very good as well. Tours were well organized and very well coordinated. The hotels were rated as 4 stars and they were not consistent with the ratings. A more accurate description was 2.5 or 3 stars at best and had they been accurately disclosed we could have made informed decision to upgrade. Unfortunately that was not how it played out.

Gate 1 always has excellent, knowledgeable tour managers.

    By Ashwin D on Apr 10, 2019

Our biggest disappoint was hotels, particularly in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. These were more of 3 to 3-1/2 star rating. fellow passengers who had taken Gate 1 tours more than 7 times were also disappointed and had same complaints about the hotels. Rooms were small and services were not up to par.
