Peregrine's newest adventure cruise uncovers the shining gems of Dalmatia's northern coast. Explore the famed Old Towns of Krk, Zadar and Sibenik and cool off in the clear waters of the Adriatic. Discover the incredible Kornati National Park by land or sea and be enveloped in the culture and history of Croatia, a modern favourite with old-world charm that casts a salty spell on all who visit.
Day 1: Venice - Opatija
The group will meet at Marco Polo airport at 1pm and be transferred to Opatija by road. This transfer will take approximately three hours, after which you’ll board your ship for a safety briefing and welcome dinner. Get to know your shipmates and crew and overnight in Opatija, and be ready to dive into the Adriatic in the morning.
Day 2: Krk
Depart for Krk in the morning with breakfast and a much-anticipated swim en route. Krk is the equal-largest island in the Adriatic, a popular destination with beaches, a historic Old Town, and myriad restaurants, bars and clubs. Take a guided tour upon arrival before being transferred to a local farm for prsut (prosciutto) and wine tasting and a lamb dinner.
Day 3: Rab
The ship will depart Krk in the morning and make its way to the island of Rab, which was first declared a city in 10 BC by the Roman Emperor Augustus. Spend the journey relaxing and reading, getting some sun or simply staring at the crystal water. With ancient walls, churches and squares, Rab is the ideal place to explore on foot, be it with the local guides on a tour or by yourself in the evening. Join an optional, leader-led hike around the island that’ll take approximately three hours, or take some time to discover for yourself why Rab is known as the Happy Island.
Day 4: Zadar
Leave the Happy Island as a happy person and cruise to Zadar with a swim along the way. The ship will dock in Zadar in the late afternoon for a guided walk around Old Town. Zadar was described by Alfred Hitchcock as having the most beautiful sunset in the world and the walk will finish at the famous Sea Organ, a giant organ with underwater pipes that makes music as the waves gently roll in. Enjoy a sunset shot of Maraska, the local cherry liquer, then take your time exploring Zadar and hunting down a Dalmatian dinner.
Day 5: Kornati National Park - Telascica
A morning departure leaves you with plenty of time to discover the Kornati National Park. Made up of 89 stunning islands, Kornati is the perfect place to while away a day cruising around the beautiful bays, swimming and soaking up some rays. Local park rangers will take you on a hike around Kornati’s stunning limestone cliff or, alternatively, there’s the option to explore the bays and inlets by sea kayak if you’d rather spend your time on the water. The ship will anchor in Telascica, a designated nature park since 1988 thanks to its historical, cultural and environmental value, and the crew will cook up a barbecue on deck. Kick back and enjoy the sunset with salty skin and a cold drink.
Day 6: Sibenik
Cruise to Sibenik, the gateway to the Kornati Islands. The ship will make an all-important swim stop en route and you can stretch those sea legs on arrival Sibenik with a walking tour taking in the stunning stone cathedral. The Cathedral of St James is a UNESCO World Heritage site and was built in both a Gothic and Renaissance style over the 15th and 16th centuries. The afternoon and evening is yours to enjoy, so seek out some local seafood if you so desire and settle in for a laid-back evening on shore.
Day 7: Split
Enjoy your last day of cruising with a final swim in the sparkling sea. The ship will dock in Split, Croatia’s second-largest city, which is renowned for its modern lifestyle and ancient buildings. Diocletian’s Palace, the sprawling complex at Split’s centre, was built in the 4th century and its white stone walls are home to bars, restaurants, shops and hotels. Take a guided walk around town or explore on your own before joining your shipmates on deck for a Captain’s dinner and farewell.
Day 8: Split
Your trip officially ends after breakfast. Say farewell to your friends and crew and make your way into Split, back home or continue your adventures. After all, there’s still plenty to see in Croatia.
