Tour Itinerary

Gorgeous fjords, breathtaking mountains, serene lakes, gleaming glaciers, and thundering waterfalls... this is Norway, and on this Scenic Norway & Iceland tour, you’ll experience both Norway's exciting cities and the spectacular scenery, as well as the stunning beauty of Iceland. In Oslo, guided sightseeing includes the famous Frogner Park with over 200 extraordinary bronze and granite sculptures. In the Telemark region, visit the Heddal stave church, the largest of Norway's remaining medieval wooden churches. In Bergen, hear about the city's 11th-century origins on your orientation drive. In Loen, Globus has arranged a very special experience for you: Norway’s latest spectacular tourism project, the Loen Skylift, to the top of Mount Hoven. Also, spend time in the Hardangerfjord region, and stop at thundering Låtefoss twin-waterfall, one of Norway's best known waterfalls; take a ferry; and see Hardangervidda mountain plateau, one of Europe's largest and home to Northern Europe's largest stock of reindeer. In this area, visit a fruit farm and meet the family who has owned it for 8 generations. Hear their history and how cider is made. While tasting apple juice and cider, enjoy the lunch Globus has arranged for you.But that's not all… enjoy a spectacular cruise on the Sognefjord, Norway's longest fjord, with its Nærøyfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a stop to see one of the mighty branches that radiate from Jostedal Glacier, Europe's largest glacier. Another tour highlight is a cruise past the famous "Seven Sisters," the most photographed waterfalls in Geirangerfjord, then, travel above the tree line to 5,000 feet for breathtaking panoramic views of the fjord and the surrounding peaks from the mountaintop lookout at Dalsnibba. Next, fly to Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital, for a six-day tour to experience Iceland’s gems: watch whales in their natural habitat, see the area where the most spectacular scenes of the James Bond movie Die Another Day were filmed, and much more! These are just some of the many highlights on this Norway & Iceland tour. It’s an amazing vacation!

Day 1: ARRIVE IN OSLO, NORWAY.
Welcome to Oslo! At 6 pm, meet your Tour Director and traveling companions for a welcome dinner at your hotel. (D)

Day 2: OSLO.
Today gives you a good introduction to Oslo, the country’s hub of trade and industry. Sightseeing with a Local Guide features the National Theater, considered the home for Ibsen’s plays; the unique Storting building, seat of Parliament; and the Royal Palace, residence of Norwegian monarchs since 1849. Stroll through magnificent FROGNER PARK with Gustav Vigeland’s extraordinary sculptures; and visit the CITY HALL, where the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony is held each year. Afterwards, an optional excursion is available to see relics of Norway’s glorious seafaring past—including 1,000-year-old Viking ships! (B)

Linh was very helpful and answered my questions immediately. I would definitely recommend affordable tours and Linh.

By Bette Ann W on Sep 06, 2019

We were completely satisfied with our tour with Globus.

By Trudi J on Aug 23, 2019

I really enjoyed this tour. Our tour guide was excellent and shared lots of facts with us about Norway and Norwegians. The hotels and food were amazing. I would recommend anyone to take this trip or trip to Norway!

By Perry S on Aug 09, 2019

Outstanding tour guide and driver...well planned.

By Edwin C on Aug 24, 2018

Enjoyed the trip and everything was as advertised. would have liked to spend more time in Bergen and perhaps less time in Loen.

By Sophia R on Jul 27, 2018

The tour far exceeded my expectations. The tour director was great and very helpful in dealing with the damage to my suitcase by a hotel porter.

By James E on May 20, 2017

Norway is a beautiful country. The scenery is breathtaking. The tour by Globus was superior in many ways. The tour director, coach driver, and hotels were top notch.

By Peter B on Sep 05, 2015

three of the hotels did not make it to the 4 star category, no coffee, no ice, no heat or A/C

By Elaine E on Sep 05, 2015

The tour was great! The only thing that was bad was our 5 hour wait for a connection on our way home in Chicago. We had been traveling for 24 hours and this wait was really hard. It may have been united airlines fault.

By William B on Aug 08, 2015

1. Some hotels were inferior in quality to the others. They should be rated standard, not first class. Examples are the hotels in Lillehammer, Loen, and Stalheim. 2. The farewell dinner should be held in a separate restaurant. Just having another buffet dinner is nothing special and is anti-climactic. Globus used to do better.

By Brett B on Aug 08, 2015

Our trip to Norway far exceeded my expectations. Our guide was very knowledgeable and professional. I would travel with him again! Our bus driver was awesome. He was all business when driving and did a great job navigating us through the twisting turning narrow roads. As well as keeping us out of the ditches. Our bus was always clean (very clean) and comfortable. Rooms were all very nice, clean and comfortable. Food was mostly buffet during lunch and dinner, it was all very good with some local flavors as well.

By Marjorie O on Sep 07, 2013

A great job was done by our agent, she was a very big help to us in making the decision for this trip. I think the Bergen area should have been a driving tour, the cobblestones made walking difficult and we only got to see the area around our hotel, leaving us to find our way during "free time".

By Carolyn S on Sep 07, 2013

The trip ,scenic Norway totally lived up to the word scenic. It was a bus trip that had enough ferry rides to balance the scency. It included good hotels in small ,towns.

By William K on Aug 10, 2013

Only problems were with British Airlines (which I booked) both our departure and return flights were cancelled. I don't know if others have had this problem with the airlines. Our tour guide and bus driver were both excellent!

By Wai Yee W on Aug 25, 2012

Our tour guide in the Scenic Norway tour was great. She was helpful, knowledgable, patient and really pleasant to be with. The hotels are generally very nicely located, close to the city and sights, and food was great.

This style of trip with a group of ~40 people is not how we usually travel. We went to be with my brother. Even though the trip was great, I doubt we will do much like it again.
