Our Gate 1 tour director, David, was the best ever. He shared his priceless insightful historical knowledge, gave daily current news reports, played thoughtfully selected music, and told great jokes many involving our beloved super bus driver Brian. David kept us acutely aware of departure time so rarely was anyone a minute late. Perhaps his greatest asset was his ability to see that we all felt special & well cared for. He was a wonderful Mother Hen & we felt fortunate to be among his chicks. Thank you Gate 1 for providing David & Brian to guide & transport us!

    By B Shankar N on Sep 22, 2019

Great hotels, good itinerary with free time. Not exhaustive schedule. Tour manager very helpful. Dinners provided very good quality.

    By Diane R on Aug 27, 2019

The itinerary stated in the package was correct. But most of it was (drive- by) from the bus. Disappointed that most of the trip with bus traveling and less stopping and sightseeing. Jamie the head tour lady was excellent. She was well informed about her history of both countries, professional, likable, intelligent, and great with knowledge. The driver Bryan was also a great driver. The problem also was the bus needed repairs of the springs and shocks. It was so rocking back and forth, it gave me very bad motion sickness and also other people experienced motion sickness. This put a very large damper on my experience with the whole trip. We covered a lot of territory and there was many miles driven. Beautiful countries, but not enough stops to see it.

    By Robyn A on Aug 12, 2019

We had a great time. Saw wonderful sights. A little too many churches but all-in- all a great trip & tour guide Jim. My 1 complaint is some of the hotels were not up to par of Gate1's reputation

    By Jon R on Jul 08, 2019

We enjoyed a great trip. Our tour director Ian was fantastic and our driver Kevin was great fun. A good trip all around.

    By Sheila B on Jun 23, 2019

This was the best escorted tour I've been on, and I've been on about 15 with many different companies. Jaime was the BEST, BEST, BEST tour guide, and Kevin was a fantastic driver. The itinerary was perfect, all included meals were good, and all but 1 hotel was good. I also like that there were only a few optional tours and not one every day like other companies. They were very affordable and there was no pressure to do them, but they were all great.

    By Norman P on May 13, 2019

Had a fantastic time on this tour!

    By Thomas J on May 05, 2019

The trip program was excellent. The tour guide was wonderful; personable, knowledgeable. He "controlled" the trip participants quite well. Very congenial group of travelers. Hotels were nice and better than expected. Meals provided by Gate 1 were excellent and at very nice restaurants. Overall, excellent tour and value.
