Everything was better than expected, from the Tour Director and driver, to the incredible weather. The food was good and the hotels top notch (except for a couple). I greatly appreciated that there were fitness centers at almost all of the hotels and the hotel staff went out of their way to accommodate my needs (e.g., in one hotel, the bed was too hard and the next day they had added a layer of padding). It was busy, almost too many excursions, but none would I have skipped. Michael, the Tour Director, was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining, keeping us both interested and laughing. I highly recommend that Insight consider giving him regular status as long as possible (he is currently a "substitute" director). He really made the trip, along with his cohort Paul, the driver. The best of 4 Insight tours that I've taken.

By Jacqueline H on Aug 27, 2015

The trip was wonderful and met our expectations based on previous Insight Vacation tours. One thing of concern was the choice of venues for two of the optionals, Scottish Dinner and Cabaret and Dinner and Irish cabaret. Both venues were overcrowded to the extent that it was a serious violation for safety concerns if there had been a fire or emergency. Both venues were extremely warm due to the overcrowding and it was difficult for the waitstaff to serve dinner due to not being able to navigate around the tables.

By Kenneth R on Jul 02, 2015

this is our third trip with insight and, regrettably, we have not had as good an experience as with trafalgar or globus.....I appreciate that these 6-7 tours have been to different areas of the world and over a 7 year period and, thus, much can change but it is our feeling that insight is "skimping"....that is to say the hotels aren't as nice (except for the last nights at the roxburgh in edinburgh) and the evening meals provided are poorer....on this trip the menus lacked diversity and, in fact, we had almost the identical 3 choices three nights in a row....while the drivers were excellent, we were also not as pleased with the tour director....he was immutable and didn't really attempt to address travelers interests as we recall in the past....that is, he was fixed on the preplanned agenda and hurrying to the next stop to eat/shop, did not ask about or provide alternatives, and for our "free time" he didn't suggest sites consistent with the interests we expressed in the pretrip inquiry material (so what was the point of collecting this info?)....also rather than forwarning riders of an upcoming site, he seemed to tell us as we or when we had passed it....this was particularly frustrating to myself and several other "photogs" who liked to take pictures.....it also seemed that on this tour there was only one optional choice to feel "free" time while in the past we recall choices so it wasn't do what everyone else does of roam alone....these were beautiful countries and, according to the pretrip research i did, offered much more to see then the tour provided....i think insight is off our list for future trips!

By Shashikant P on Aug 01, 2013

Overall a great experience. Only one hiccup. On the very first night at the beginning of the tour and when we badly needed to catch up with rest after a long flight from Los Angeles to Dublin, (Not to mention the jet lag), we could not sleep due to annoying construction related noise until mid night in the hotel. It did affect our next day's tour since we got only limited rest.
